You're wrong. Its been proven there are a few, not many, that have convinced themselves the coach is not going to take us to any championships and hope they lose so we can speed up the process of finding the one who can.No real fan is hoping we will lose, we just know what is going to happen if/when we do; page after page of complaining because the team didn’t meet the expectations of 75% of the posters on this board. Every fan hopes we will win, don’t be ridiculous

Its also obvious that some think this season is lost anyway and this game doesn't even matter, I think there is a thread about it, and actually do hope we lose just so they can be right. I can't prove this, but its ridiculous for you to say its ridiculous when you can't prove it either.
I agree with this but every fan is entitled to their opinion. I say if you don’t go out to a game every now and then, and enjoy the 70 in flatscreen food AC bathroom etc too much, never sitting in the elements too spoiled to leave your house (every now and then) then you aren’t a true fan either. If any supposed “fan” hopes we lose then they aren’t real fans. Anybody can have an opinion about a coach but rooting against them is ridiculous
I think what I really meant was that, to the OP's original point, many "do this to themselves," i.e. get all positive about this particular game and our chance to win, then get down when the truth sets in. I do agree that those who are generally positive overall remain so even during tough losses.I challenge you to prove this.
As I typed that, I started thinking about how one would go about doing that. My first thought was, you would have to decide what you would consider positive. I assume anything other than "We gonna get stomped, we suck, you're stupid or delusional if you think we win, The Vols are embarrassing etc" is positive.
The next step would be a list of the "positive" people. It would be easiest to get you a little pink sticky and jot down the usernames.
Last, just watch the game thread and the front page for New threads. On another sticky, just write down the thread title and post number of those "Positive" posters from the negative thread that were being positive there and now being negative.
There. That's a solid plan, all you have to do is execute it. I'll even give you the first name for your first list, the "positive" people that doesn't hate Tennessee.
Behr.
I look forward to your results.
About time you thought about yourself before everyone else.Still here. You guys were getting so red faced I didn’t want to be liable for an aneurysm.

You watching it a home by yourself, with friends, other gator fans, sports bar...etc? I'll be watching with 2 friends that are both gator fans, and 1 Ohio St. Fan that will be cheering for us. Not the same but I'll take it.
That means you’re on here more than you’re pretending. From your previous takes, your judgement of what OTHERS “need” shouldn’t be trusted. I hope your day sucks as much as you do.You're in every thread that I open being a smart-ass or arguing with someone. Have a good day butchna sounds like you need it. Go vols!

Also to the OP's point, I stopped "doing it to myself" several years ago, and I highly recommend it.
Funny, I told the OSU guy if he would cheer for us tonight, and I mean just as if it were OSU playing, I would do the same for him next week against Penn St. Its a fair trade for me.Accidentally hit two of those guys in nether regions while going to get a beer. Grab a brew for the Ohio State guy who's backing you up. Then accidentally hit the other two fellas again.

Florida is not very good but we are worse. Their DL is better than our OL which determines most games. Their offense may not score much, but their special teams will likely make big plays on us.
We won’t lose because of the name on their helmet or our history with them since division play began. We will lose because we aren’t very good at football right now.
Put on your Big Orange Cup and get ready for a kick to the junk. Of course, please bump this if we win.

I really don't understand why some of y'all bother to follow Tennessee football. You should spend your time doing something you enjoy. Life is short. Don't waste it.
Still 100% true.It just amazes me how concerned some of our fans are about the others. I appreciate it Jack, obviously you're putting your selfishness aside and only thinking of those of us that don't know any better because we've never seen football before, but I'll be fine if we get beat 80-0 and promise not to seek comfort from you or anyone else.
Still 100% true.
when I saw people bumping this thread, I asked myself, would last night have sucked any less if I had been dreading it all week? The answer was a definite no.
Last night would have sucked either way. The only difference is I only had one crappy night on VN instead of an entire week. Gonna try to catch some more fb today and spend some time with the family.
