Don't know if true but I'm not happy...(Memphis St series)

So you were 110% sure we were gonna make the tourey in 2012 before Bruce was fired in 2011?

You would be one of FEW.

I would have expected to make the tourney in 2012. And I think everyone can agree we would have made the tourney with fewer bad losses.

AP, Charleston, uga, old miss, and mtsu should cover it. There's a reason a team that finished second in the SEC didn't make the NCAA tourney.

Uhm yea, the @uga and N ole miss losses aren't considered bad losses, not sure if you're new to this game or what.

When the F did a loss to a bubble team, at a neutral site become a bad loss???

But anyway, drop those 2 and you've got 3 bad losses named...Florida x2, UCONN, Vandy...that's already more quality wins than bad losses you named.

The tourney is a minimal expectation for the Vols. Anything short is a disappointment. We have tournament history, we have tournament facilities, we pay tournament coaching money. There is no excuse for not expecting the tourney every season.

We pay tournament coaching money? Please look at some of the guys in the SEC paid close to the same as Martin.

And I left off getting blown out by UAT when they had what, 5 scholly players.

Look, we all know you are a university of martin fan. You have 13000 posts here in 9 months to prove it.

But the bottom line, bad losses outweighed the wins and UT ended the season in the not invited tourney.

Um yeah. You must be new to this game. What was the average salary for a coach in the tourney last season. Yeah, thought so.

Here's an idea, take out the coaches of the teams who were auto qualifiers and get back to me with that number.

Why would you compare martins salary to the coach of the automatic qualifying team from the patriots league, seriously?

Like I said, compare him to the other coaches in his league and get back to me.

Wow are you reaching..

A loss to a NCAA team AT their place is also now a bad loss...why don't you go be a UK basketball fan, and Alabama football fan...

Seems your expectations are to go undefeated and win it all every year.

I'll continue being a vol fan with expectations of winning. Hell, I was probably in school the same time as your parents.

It was just his first season at a D1 school. You at least have to give him the benefit of the doubt.:ermm:

Tom Izzo first season, 16-16
Roy Williams went 19-12 at Kansas. Then went 19-11 at UNC.

Many more examples just too lazy to post them. Your acting like he has no potential

Good point. He won't like it because it doesn't satisfy his agenda, but a good point still.

Gee, what a skewed stat that would be. How about instead, we compare his salary to that of all the teams that received at-large bids and I think you'll get a more accurate figure.

Yeah, and even better is that if we had beaten Austin freakin Peay we may have made the tourney. Measuring against expectations is funny that way.

Would you agree that if Stokes played the whole season UT would of made the tourny?

I said the exact same thing, and told him to compare him in conference too...he's yet to do either.

CCM is not making high major tournament money, not even close actually. It's ok though, because after this year he will be.

Haha oh really, here's a little refresher...

Way to try and change that to 3, but it was defintely 4, and you were including Hubbs.

Pretty good chance UT is getting more than one. And no, don't flatter yourself, I read memphistigers when I need a good laugh, it's just an added bonus when i stumble upon them making fun of you.

Please reference when I've taken anything on this board to a personal level? Unless you have a different definition of personal than I do.

Ie forgets that Golden and Maymon both were limping in the MTSU game and UT was leading before Trae got hurt.

And if Golden and Maymon are limping at the end of this season should we expect anything different?

Considering that's two of your three best players, I don't think UT is going to be in a good position in any case.

Not to defend him, but he's got a point here. There isn't much proven depth behind the starters right now, if one or two go down to injury at an inopportune time.

Depth may emerge as the season goes on, but I'm sure it's one of the concerns that kept UT out of the top 25 to start with.
