We can tie this when we beat them next season and then move back ahead on our way to 15-0.

Yah, giving up the spot to UGa bothers me. I desperately want us to reclaim the place ahead of them.

On the flip side, we're ahead of USCw...weren't we behind them just a year or two ago?

1. Michigan - 989
2. Alabama - 953
3. Ohio State - 953
4. Notre Dame - 938
5. Texas - 936
6. Oklahoma - 934
7. Penn State - 920
8. Nebraska - 912
9. Georgia - 868
10. Tennessee - 867
11. USC - 867
12. LSU - 833

We will pass Nebraska in most of our lifetimes ... just 45 games behind, and if they stay as bad as they have been the past five years, we'll gain on them at about 5 games/year or better. That's 9 years.

Hopefully we take over the East from Georgia in the next year or two, get back in front of them, and widen the lead some while we're catching the Cornhuskers.

Go Vols!

Not at the top of my list but it would be cool to see us move up a couple spots. Need Nebraska to keep freefalling and Georgia to have a couple Mark Richt type years or start having difficult schedules.

Nebraska should be in our sights soon if they keep spiraling.

They have 45 more wins than we do. They’ve averaged 5.6 wins per season over the last decade. If they stay about the same we’d need to average just over 10 wins per season to catch them by 2033.

I’m more concerned about USC passing us.

I love numbers games, over the last 6 years they have averaged just over 3 wins per year which if we continue to win like we did this year could allow us to overtake them in 5 years or less as well.

It's in the other direction, friend.

We just passed (tied, actually) USCw. They are in the process of falling out of the Top 10 for the first time in (I think) many decades.

Edit: I take it back. Just looked it up. USCw has actually never been ahead of us. You're right; they are trying to pass us as well.

If you run this by “since 1921” or some such - it shows us as number 2 - there was a guy on gridscape who used to always show that - of course, with the time that has passed and all the losses of the last 20 years, we probably aren’t anywhere close to top 2 now.

If national media attention means anything than USC should win every game from here on out...lol! Seems everyone is on the Lincoln Riley wagon, but that guy is just running towards weaker competition.

Yea, I figure they can at least get back to Kentucky level and win 6-7 games a year...they are in the circle of hell looking for the right coach...

They passed us in SEC championships this year too, 14 to 13 and are now 2nd in that category as well. For now, we still have them in winning percentage though, .672 to .663.

Lets add more seats to Neyland ;)
No, let’s not 😂 We are, however, founding SEC football members and football royalty lol we need to remind ourselves, I think that’s why I spaz out when ‘fans’ talk up other teams and poo on ours 😂 I told one guy we had a much harder schedule than Georgia, which we do, and he acted like I kicked his puppy

I didn't help get any of those wins unless we are counting yelling at the field/tv in various stages of sobriety so not sure where I should be on the care-o-meter.
