Yea, I figure they can at least get back to Kentucky level and win 6-7 games a year...they are in the circle of hell looking for the right coach...
They are only 6 years into the really tough times, if they are like us they have at least 10 to 12 more to go, lol

Not at the top of my list but it would be cool to see us move up a couple spots. Need Nebraska to keep freefalling and Georgia to have a couple Mark Richt type years or start having difficult schedules.
The Bulldogs began to overtake us in 2002 (13-1), Mark Richt's 2nd season.

Georgia even won 10 games each of his last 2 seasons in Athens (Richt was coach for 9 of them, the 10th was the bowl after he was fired, but it was his team). The Mark Richt jokes are funny, but they are also hyperbole.

Richt was 146-51 in 15 seasons, averaging 9.73 wins per season. He won 10+ games 10 out of 15 seasons. Kirby has won 10+ 5 out of 7 seasons (and two championships, and 4 of those seasons UGA won 12+. Richt only did that twice.)

His BIG downside is no Natty (It is a HUGE DEAL). Kirby is obviously coaching on a different level, but Mark Richt was no slouch. As good as he was , Kirby's success has proven it was a brilliant idea to fire him in favor of Smart.
Richt will be in the College Football Hall of Fame someday. --edit he is in.

He was a great coach without a doubt, but we could always count on them losing one or two they shouldn't in most years, whether those losses were on Richt or not it doesn't really matter. And if Tennessee really is back to being elite again then that's all we'll need Georgia to do.

Michigan started playing football when the Pilgrims landed...
Yah, they seem to have, heh.

Here's a dynamic chart that shows how early Michigan showed up, and how comparatively late we and a lot of the other Top 10 programs arrived near the top. Including Ohio State not getting into the Top 10 until 2009, I think.

Of course, it's going to start out with nothing but Ivy Leagues and a few other Northeastern schools you may never have heard of.

Michigan pops into the Top 10 in 1900, with 76 wins.

By comparison, the Vols only started playing football in 1891, and by 1900 had only amassed 24 victories. We arrive in the chart somewhere around 1992.

We can tie this when we beat them next season and then move back ahead on our way to 15-0.
But sadly there's several that don't care, and thought Georgia winning would help us because we'd be ranked higher. Don't nobody tell them that they were dead wrong, despite several of us trying to tell them, and we're ranked exactly in the same spot. I think it was honestly just an excuse for them to show their Georgia love.

Pretty sick of hearing that Michigan is a blue blood. That team hasn't won a undisputed Natty in 75 years.
"Blue blood" and "programs that win titles" are two different things.

The mystique around Michigan's program is been more about the fact they've been around for a long time than anything else.

I don’t care. I care about championships not where we rank in all time wins.
Of course sec and national championships are more important. Still I like to keep check every 2-3 years on all time wins it is a great indication of the teams that stand up well though the test of time and History. It doesn’t have to be the most important thing but there is no reason to not respect winning through the decades tradition! GBO!

Only way to catch up in the next 20 years is be so good it doesn't matter if other teams are good or having a lull. We are just better.

Football didn't really start at UT until Gen Neyland arrived in 1926. Since that time, the University of Tennessee is tied for 5th in most wins behind only Ohio St, Alabama, Oklahoma, and UGA (tied w/Texas). They are 9th overall in winning pct with Alabama being the only SEC team ahead of them.
