Don't you feel dirty after all the bad things you said about Dooley?

The problem lies with people who can't separate criticism of performance and personal attacks.

Little people with feeble minds attack people personally for professional shortcomings.

Those folks should turn in their fan cards. Same stock as tree poisoners and the like.

It was so funny to see people on the board calling CDD a loser and wondering what the posters did for a living.

This is the problem with message boards. Every has-been high school football player trash talks the coaches without any accountability.

That being said, I don't feel sorry for Dooley. This is what contract negotiations are for. He get's the freedom to sit back and wait for the right opportunity for him to open up now with no rush.

I don't think any of the attacks were personal. He was a good person who was not a good game-day coach. And as far as feeling bad for him, no, he's got $5mil to wipe away his tears.

I didn't get the impression from his statement that he is upset at the university or the fans for this firing. He knew that the wins and losses didn't match up with the expectations for the University of Tennessee. I'm sure he can explain that to his kids. It's not like it was with Fulmer, the definition of a VFL who felt he should have been given the benefit of the doubt. Not saying Fulmer wasn't done, I'm just saying the emotions here are much different.

well he is a loser as a coach right? This is a football forum. What did you expect every one to say ? What a great coach he was? The Fooley,Dooloser,Dooleave etc was nothing compared to what Fullmer was called and he did 100 times the good for UT football . The W's and L's is what you see. I like the VFL program. I like that Dooley is a family man. I hate the way he treated former players, and skipped out on responsibility for the teams performance at times.I don't feel bad for what I said at all, I wish the man could have won some games and made me think diffrent of him. Not 1 fan wanted to see us lose so many games.

I joined this forum around the time the FF (FIRE FULMER) bullets were being shot everywhere. All I can say is, you got what you deserved!
KIFFIN, the most dis-loyal coach in UT history, then, DOOLEY, the worst coach (record-wise) in UT history. SURE, He's "NICE" but "NICE" does not win games!
MAYBE, THIS TIME, UT WILL TAKE IT'S TIME AND FIND THE RIGHT FIT FOR THE LONG TERM. ALABAMA found theirs, VANDY FINALLY found theirs! UT HAS BEEN THROUGH HELL THE LAST 4 YEARS.
We all knew this was coming! I only wonder what the outcome would have been if he had been fired after the Missouri game!

Why are you yelling? Kiffin wasn't disloyal he just got a better job for him. It's a business coaches can leave when they want to just like AD's can fire them when he wants to. Yes Vandy found a good coach (for Vandy) but how many coaches have they been through to get here. After Stallings retired at Alabama they hired four HC's in 9 years before getting Saban. You think the Kiffin ordeal was bad? I got two words for you Mike Price. People think what has happened to UT the past few years would never happen anywhere else but it has and does happen everywhere (yes even Alabama). Hopefully the administration has learned from the past AD's mistake which was hiring Dooley and will not settle for an unproven head coach ever again.

Yea I'm just all broke up about it. I'd swap places with him. Let him try and get by on my paycheck for the two years.

I honestly don't feel bad at all. It's not like I crapped in my hands and threw it at him and his family. I'm just critical of his piss poor (lack of) coaching, which goes hand in hand with being the suckiest coach in D-1 football.

This is a weird post. Why would anyone poop in their own hands?

He's finished.

What will his lasting memories be of Tennessee?

Maybe more importantly - what will the lasting memories be for his children and family?

I hope they didn't read all the hate and that somehow they leave with good memories of the great state of Tennessee.

If someone does not do the job for which they were hired- then bad things happen. Getting 5 million for doing the worst job in 100 years is robbery. He should pay UT for the last 3 years his teams have been under-prepared to play. I dont really care what he thinks of UT.

Not at all because we didn't say anything about Coach.. we supported him & were hoping for the best but realized there needed to be a change.. no reason to talk down about someone that loves the game & we personally feel gave his best.. the man is broken, no need to beat him more while he's down.. that's not our style... we wish for him and his family a happy future & for him to succeed with whatever direction he chooses to go..

GO VOLS..
GO BIG ORANGE ..

That is the whole deal. 95 percent of the people saying the worst things don't know anything about football. So they can't be critical of a performance they can not perform themselves. They understand personal attacks well. Probably due to being personally attacked So they are really just sticking to what they know. Like most folks.

It is funny a dawg would come over and comment on our business. He is a loser. He is judged by his record of wins and loses. He had more loses than wins therefore by defination he is a loser. Why don't ya'll hire him?

You know I think I'd compare the time with Dooley like being in a relationship. He had some positive impact but it ultimately didn't work out.

Now it's time to move on.

Sorry bro...no...don't feel dirty at all. Dooley accepted a job that he knew he was way under-qualified for. Every HBC who coaches long enough will find himself getting "ran off." Ask Phil. Besides, who set Dooley's family up to have to endure the criticism of their loved one? You? Me? C'mon man, it comes with the territory. If you're offered a job like he was, that criticism is one of those things that needs to weighed out. You can't call foul on that one just because some people take things too seriously.

Everyone who sees Dooley as a "great man" will get their wake up calls soon. He IS NOT what you thought he was. I've got a buddy who works in the media relations dept of the AD...Dooley is not a well liked man at all. Temper tantrums are the norm with CDD. He took a figurative dump on Cody Pope while Pope was going through a difficult time. He's thrown A LOT of his guys under the bus when he should've been accepting the blame...thats what he got paid to do.

I really have tried hard not to bad mouth him.

It is quite simple in reality it was a business decision, it wasn't working and the university decided to part ways.

We will see if he handles it with grace. Is there something in his contract that he isn't allowed to bad mouth the University?

I don't feel dirty after what I said because nothing I said was directed to him as a person. It was directed to his coaching, which wasn't good.

But it's over now, let's move on.
