Don't you get sick and tired of the no respect

They've been above .500 for a few years, went and won a bowl game, they are coming in and playing a team that has been below .500 for a while and no bowl games to be had. I don't get mad at their fans for thinking they can try to "steal" a win from us. But it does piss me off when I hear their fans say they are going to roll over us. (which has been stated several times on their message boards).

But it isn't unlike any of our fans that think we are going 10-2, they have absurd fans as well that think they are coming into Neyalnd and whipping us. IT WILL NOT HAPPEN!! I'm going to make sure on the way out of the stadium that they know about it, you should too.

This is the complete junk that gets me... their record in a complete crap conference means absolutely nothing. The only way that would have any impact is if they played teams even halfway comparable to the teams we play. a 20 and 0 highschool team... is not going to beat a 0-20 college team.. despite the fact one has a better win record then the other.

it is ridiculous to even compare the two teams... Utah st is a team full of 1 and 2 star players, great for them to win against other 2 star teams... WAY TO GO!! that doesnt mean you are going to be able to beat a team full of 4 and 5 star players. Yes anything is possible... but it will take a miracle for them to pull of a win.. IN NEYLAND, like we would have to implode and give them 4-5 turnovers.

anyone who looks at just the win/loss record and tries to extrapolate from that is just an idiot. It is comparing apples to horses.. the only similarity there is that horses eat apples.. just like we are going to eat Utah st....

WKU played us tough outside of their 6 straight turnovers. Biggest thing for us, is just win. If we lose, this thread will be even worse bump material for the trolls.

well, we caused about everyone of those turnovers. thats what defense is supposed to do. lamest excuse ever

we could have taken back atleast 17 points off the turnovers and still won by 15.

Wonder what the star rankings were in that Georgia Southern vs Florida game last year?

you know what bothers me more than lack of respect is the told you so's and you should've respected us and that junk after we beat a team. I'm more apt to discuss the game and move on to next week, where guys worried about respect seem to want to taunt or bow their chest over the next few days.

This is clearly an emotional post. Which can lead to hyperbole and unreasonable statements.

You are correct, however.

USU wins 4 games with our schedule last season. Sorry, they just do.

Nah...not in these mid-major money games. We are supposed to win these, and typically do....going away.

No real reason to strut.

There is also a difference between a team who is in the game and a team who has given up on the year. That same Florida team beat us, remember?

When you suck you don't get respect.

Why do people have such a problem with this?

Because some are living in the past. I saw where someone posted that we should never lose to South Carolina. Alot of fans are in the dark as to where we stand as a program.

I have to agree with some of the posters, UT has been "not good" at times, last year we gave UGA a win, they did not beat UT, we gave it to them. However, you have to beat the man to be the man, I am as nervous as a groom on my wedding night with this team, I love the players and coaches, they have said and done everythig possible to prepare for this game and season, but all the answers are on the field, and Sunday will provide either another year of TUMS next to my bed or a euphoria of hope and belief that UT could win. All of you have to admit, CBJ has done about as good a job as anyone to get the players and caoch them, but these Vols are asked to do what more mature teams have not done. Let's get ready to R U M B L E!!!

We should never lose to South Carolina.

When does their trial membership to the SEC expire anyway?

while i agree we should handle USU, why would anyone respect us right now? we have 1 quality win in the last 5 years

One problem is that when all is said and done the USU game will not be viewed as a quality win.

Well I guess the answer to that is to go out and kick that a$$ and don't provide any fuel for the fire.

Whenever they stop going 11-2, winning bowl games, and ranking in the Top 10.
(I guess whenever Spurrier leaves)

I said that tongue-in-cheek. They are a quality opponent....though I still have a hard time seeing them and Arky in the SEC. I did not approve.

First of all, I agree with you. The reasoning behind saying what I said is that the "no respect attitude" is coming from opposing teams fans. And If you are there on Sunday ask any Ute (whatever the hell that is) fan why they think they can win. They will have two responses, chuckie keeton, and we won 9 games last year or whatever it was and you won 5. It is a complete BS comparison, but that will be what they say I guarantee it.

I am assuming that you are referring "idoits" as other teams fans using the win/loss argument to validate why they think their team can win, and not calling me an idoit sir.

While I can understand the lack of respect from the "experts" we dont have to like it.

I think what the op, and most of us, have a "problem" with is that we have sucked. Some of us more optimistic people think that is gonna change this year.

No what you want is your opinion validated by media people.

We have to win this game. I want the stadium to be a roaring orange tsunami and I want the Vols to get out in front fast and put the game away early, so that the outcome is never in question. I want to be so far ahead that Peterman plays. Then the respect will start to return.
