Dooley and Dez Bryant

As far as Dooley is concerned, I would be interested to know exactly what he said to him when he grabbed his arm the way he did. From watching the video I got the distinct impression that Dooley said something to the effect of "You need to calm the hell down."

Dooley : "Did you shower the way I asked you to"

Or maybe "Can you tell me where Rommel is?"

Or how about..."Help me out Bryant...were you supposed to run a flag or post on that play...I can't remember"

As a coach, when comparing scores against common opponents who both Dooley and Butch have faced while at U.T., here are the facts.

Dooley
against Oregon: Lost by 35, Butch lost by 45
against Florida : Lost by avg. of 13.7, Butch lost by 14
against Georgia: Lost by avg. of 14, Butch lost by 3
against So. Car: Lost by avg. of 9.3, Butch won by 2
against Alabama: Lost by avg. of 31, Butch lost by 35

Add up all the point deficit against common opponents and Dooley lost by 103 point average per year against these 5 opponents. Butch lost by 95. So we have improved by 8 points total against 5 opponents. That is an average of 1.6 points per game. In the only head to head, Dooley won 45-23.

I like the new coach, and I see some improvement, but not nearly enough to make a person love one coach and hate the other. I can't hate either as a man, because I haven't met them.

This is like wrecking your own car, then giving it to someone else and wondering why they can't go 60.

Dooley looked real good coaching against KY in 2011 too:)
Could that have had something to do with his "NFL quarterback" completing less than 40% of his passes (15 of 38) and throwing 2 interceptions? That juggernaut of an offense, with "NFL qb and receivers" scored all of 7 points. The children threw the game because they didn't want to practice another month for a bowl game.

Or maybe the defensive coaches couldn't even come up with a game-plan to stop a WR that had to play QB from moving the ball. Dooley was a real genius.

Yeah okay dude...but that ignores year to year talent differences with all those teams. For instance, Oregon in 2010 IMO was not as good as this years team. Plus, we played them at home.

And so forth.

The one that jumps off the page is the USCe comparison though. All the difference in the world! Uga also much better...and this might be part of it, those games for Butch were later in the year.

Let's see how he does vs. the rest of the schedule. (cough cough) I bet the Vandy comparison will be very interesting!
There can't be a legitimate Vandy comparison because Bray intentionally threw the game to get his coach fired. That won't happen again because the child has moved on.

That makes Bray a VFL . One hell of a sacrifice to save our football program. Thank you Tyler Bray! And yes, the child (Dooley) has moved on.

Dez Bryant is a punk pure and simple. He will always be this way because he always has been. People can make excuses for him all they want and this has nothing to do with Dooley.

Yes, the Dooley's defensive staff did a horrible job. Kentucky scored 10 points, had all of 10 first downs, and 217 total yards in that game. That will win probably 99 of 100 games, unless of course your qb throws the game. You must be confused if you think that the defense was the problem in that game.
