Dooley has been fired (unconfirmed)

Was watching here in tricities and the show was pulled off the air because there was no sound. hmmm....

If you didn't catch it, you didn't miss anything. He has used the same script after each and every moral victory, "That was bad... we didn't execute... our positioning on defense was bad... we could'a, would'a, should'a..." I know the guy hurt his hip, but his continued excuses are his real lameness.

the time is NOW we need to make a move now so we can get a jump on recruiting if we can get a great recruiting coach maybe he can snag us a few top rated players to go with the b.s class dooley has now ut does not have a player in the espn 100 best prospets there best pick up is riley ferganson a 4 star player i think he is ranked like 225 of somthing we need top talent to compete in the sec ut is just flat out slow on D and we need to change that and put some speed out there and pick up a cb that an play man to man without falling down or just flat out getting burned we need some 1998[ speed!!!

<Edited political agenda>

We have had 3 coaches in 5 years. Who in their right mind would want to come here...coach or recruit. Local sports radio is negative, fan base is negative, student body is negative. But if all you guys got together and coached the team then the university would save a hell of a lot of money and really smart people would be our coach. That AD was a mess long time before Dooley got there.

Nice first post. :good!: Not gonna earn you many fans on here. To many people on here just can't or don't want to accept how bad it was here prior to Dooley.

Welcome :hi:

Well it's as big a part of it. Like it or not. Just as much as bad coaching decisions. It's naive to not understand that some coaching decisions are made based on how the players are executing. We had some drives while the score was 28-21 and the O didn't put it away. It has happened all season long, so of course confidence isn't going to be there.

Anyone that has ever been in a managerial position can relate to it. Not that difficult.

That always worked for me. "Hey boss, it ain't me that screwing things up, it's the employees". Like I say, works every time.

I've been there most of my life. When things fail, you fix the problem and move forward. Everything comes to rest on your shoulders. If you can't fix the problems, then you're replaced. It's a weakness and sign of poor management and leadership skills to fault the ones below you.

Fire Dooley today = Win out and go to low-tier bowl with a chance to go 7-6
Don't fire Dooley today = Vandy L, no bowl and 5-7 or 4-8

Uncertainty loses ballgames. Being decisive now brings hope, a more positive outlook and the feeling that the UTAD is taking charge and in control. Continuing to keep quiet and do nothing while the team flounders, fans give up, the media torches us and nervous recruits start looking elsewhere means our problem goes higher than Dooley.

SEC teams looking for new coaches soon:

Arkansas
Auburn
Tennessee
Kentucky

UT needs to get proactive and make a move soon to get the first pick among the top coaches around the country.

The Dooley Show should have ran film of our secondary trying to stop Girl Scouts from selling cookies! Probably couldn't do that either.

Come on stop being ridic. You r are the type that would think its ok to blame the CEO of a company for the stupid mistake a part time employee makes in a different state. Or even blame a store manger for a drive thru employee accidentally spilling coffee on someone's lap

Things aren't perfect in life man and being a HC and having everything work just right when it was a disaster from day 1 takes time.

To your point though I have used that and it turned out to be the case. My first managerial position I was stuck with trying to get the best out of lower waged employees. And no matter what they were just unable to get it. More to do with thier upbringing than me. It was really difficult cause my higher ups just didn't want to pay. I finally convinced them to little by little allow me to pay more, and things got better. Pretty easy man. And no I didn't work at a McDonalds, but ran a major hub for a Intl Corp. Highly regulated by the govt, high stress, very fast paced, and doing this less than 2 yrs after graduating from UT. This is why I feel the way I do about Dooley's situation.

Out of the 4 teams listed, I would think TN would have 1st pick anyway.

I understand this. But we aren't talking about an industry you can just "fix it" with ease. Cdd can't just go out and higher and fire players at will or even coaches.

It's easier said then done.
