Dooley has been fired (unconfirmed)

Bob Davie was a homerun hire? Tyrone Willingham? Charlie Weiss got hired b/c a half dozen other guys turned them down. And any job other than Cincy was a "dream job" for Kelly. He would of said the same thing as his opening press conference had he been hired here.

Davie was DC under Holtz; he was supposed to keep up that good thing they had going. Willingham was highly thought of at Stanford. Weis was supposed to be the biggest home run of them all, since he was the "offensive guru" at New England and worked with Brady.

it has nothing to do with him having contact with another school...thats a load of bs....while DD is not the right person moving forward for the HC role, his work has not gone unnoticed. His work off the field, is much more valuable to the current AD than his work on the field....his inexperience coaching, has made it clear he is not the right person to continue as the HC....that being said, his experience as a former AD is something that is appealing to many and has them trying to keep him involved...

Wild, out of the blue, crazy guess...open AD position at UT-Chattanooga?

Losing to Missouri didn't cost Dools his job - it was the way he did it.

With 40+ seconds to go in the game on Missouri's 40 and you let the clock run out with 2 times outs and 2 first round draft picks at wideout and a guy who can sling it 75 yards in the air...? Are you kidding me? That like escapade cost him his job.
Who? Rogers and Patterson, because Hunter is way too inconsistent to be a first round pick.

Damn they should have just promoted Dooley to AD when Hamilton got fired - then there would be a new coach now. So Hart may be trying to keep the guy that takes his job. LOL

I would have put Hunter in at RB for the 2 point conversion - He could easily have jumped into the end zone and it would have been another trick play on Mizzou

This entire decision making process has gone well beyond Hart....

has nothing to do with this bs rumor...he has been nothing but a stand up guy and a great leader, mentor and role model for all of the programs

I'm very skeptical.

I've been paying close attention for Dooley's entire tenure and have heard many many things that I would call concerning and/or disturbing.

Dooley presents a great public image/persona for the program, but I believe the old adage - "where there is smoke there is fire" - meaning some of the rumors are based in fact.

Dooley has never accepted responsibility for a loss - this is extremely disturbing - it seems there is always a lot of finger pointing to the players and plenty of blame to go around.

This is not a leader of men.

I am relieved we will have a new beginning soon.

Dont be too short sighted on everything this job encompassed when he took over...again, he is not the right man for the HC'ing job...The work he did for UT when dealing with the NCAA, donors and boosters has been excellent...and lets be honest, he hasnt done horrible on the recruiting trail either, not that he will be involved directly with that moving forward....make no mistake about it...this is a leader of men...not all the people starting the rumors and complaining, turned into men...many got booted, because they never realized what it took to be a man.

I'm sure. If Dooley goes he goes cause I don't think the new coach would want an 112 ranked defensive coordinator on his staff

Again...too short sighted...everyone knew, and said when they brought in this hire, that it may be the right hire for the program, but not for DD's job security. No one expected Sunseri to be able to wave a magic wand, and turn this into the D he runs in one short off season...everyone expected it to take a year or two to get the right personal in....

Just curious - not a criticism.

How old are you?

There is no reason a defense in the SEC should be that bad. No reason whatsoever. This group makes the same mistakes over and over and over again. That secondary is so poor there are no words to describe it. It doesn't even appear to be FBS level. They don't correct anything and have gotten worse as the season has gone on.

If Dooley is gone, I'm sure the house is cleaned as far as a coaching staff.
