Dooley vs Muschamp

So you say we have been down since 2005, please explain to me how we were down in 2006 and 2007?

We weren't nationally relevant. When UT isn't nationally relevant, their down. It's that simple. I don't care that we won the East in 2007 either. We got hammered 59-20 at Florida and 41-17 at eventual 6-6 Alabama.

Let's just say that on paper they are SEC caliber players. That's why this year is a good indicator of the ability of Dooley to coach a team. Until now, we hoped he'd win, but the reasonable people didn't expect him to because he simply didn't have the talent. This year he has the talent.

Personally, I think we win big this year. I think a 10 win season (including a bowl) is not out of the question. I am excited to watch this year unfold. One way or another, it's going to answer a lot of questions moving forward.

I believe this is exacty what could happen, but these leans years have left me a bit skeptical and a tad jaded.

Man what A 10 win season would do for our beloved program.... Make it happen Dooley

lose to ky

Truth...you speak it.

I maintain that Dooley can drop a game to a team like UF or Missouri, and UT can still have a successful season. I really don't see the East winner having less than 2 conference losses.

However losing to Kentucky will get you straight up fired.

How is being ranked in the top 25 all of 2006 and the majority of 2007 not nationally relevant? Also with that logic of saying you dont care that we won the East in 2007.... then you probably don't care bout the SEC championship that we won in 97 just because we lost to UF...or how bout let's just forget about 2001 also since we lost to UGA during the season. Oh yeah 2004 when we got smacked around by Auburn twice let's just go ahead and wipe that one off the board also. Yeah we got whooped by UF and UA during the 2007 season but we also took care of business when we had too, which included beating a good UGA team and a good SC team. Hell we only lost to the eventual national champions by a TD. Then beat WISC in the outback bowl. It's rediculous how you want to just sweep that whole season under the rug because of those two losses.

What gave it away, the record?

He's putting in some foundation, especially in the trenches where we slacked over the years and attrition is down from where it has been. There have been few off the field issues as well, and we have a record setting qb and wr's too.

He may not make it, but he and the staff have done a few things in their tenure that should have us back on the upswing, or ready for it if it doesn't work out.

Also before someone tries to bust my chops and say that wasn't a good SC team in 2007...they were ranked #15 when we beat them that year. So, yeah they were good at the time.

I don't think either one is a SEC quality coach. I wouldn't select either to head up my team. Both are asst at best.

I wouldn't mind Muschamp as a DC. I would not want him as the HC.

Dooley, I don't know what he's good at really.

right now, dooley. If muschamp doesn't win 9+ games in 2012, he'll be on the hot seat next season. In the SEC, meyer and chizik won titles in their second year, saban in his third year at alabama and fourth year at lsu. There's not a long honeymoon anymore.

You can't make chicken salad out of chicken $h!t, and that's what UF has on offense. Eight wins is the ceiling for this UF team, unless our new OC is a miracle worker.
