Dooley Wanted for Georgia Job *Extremely goofy rumor*

I don't see Dooley being the type of guy that wants to live under his daddys legacy. I believe he will get us straight, and he's the type of guy that saw the skeletons in our closet, rolled up his sleeves and hit it head first. Not many coaches (men) would do that. That's why I'm such a fan of his.

Also I think that the rebuilding that we need is more intriguing to him then getting it handed it to him. Not like Urban Meyer riding what he was handed then leaving for his "family" yet he travels everywhere now and barely home.

If I remember correctly Ark had a Bball couch turn around after 24 hrs a few yrs back. Its rumored he saw their skeletons and said F-that, and went crawling back to Creighton (I think thats right).

Our situation when Dooley came in wasn't pretty, and he didn't get scared. And for that I take my hat off to him...:hi:...and support him 110%.

Go VOLS!!!

Please stop acting like Dooley stepped up and "accepted a challenge like a real man should/does/could/would."

The head coach at Louisiana Tech was offered a job at one of the top 10 winningest programs in college football history, in the greatest conference in football, and a tradition rich school.

It wasn't that hard of a decision.

That's rediculous. The UT program was burned to the damn ground. He took on the football program equivalent of rebuilding ground zero. That deserves respect it doesn't matter where he came from. Any body that would take this job at that point deserves respect if for nothing else, just trying to do it. It is a massive undertaking, and he gets very little thanks for what he is trying to do.

Really??? I was expecting you Gator trollers to come out on my Meyer comment, but you could only bash the rest instead. Says much about how much I hit the truth on that one. HA! :the_finger:

I stand by what I said, and you can bit my a** for all I care. :shaking2:

My son is a big UGA fan, and he loves DD. He is not as blind as as the clueless, and can see that DD is on the verge of bringing UT back from the dead.

When I was down in BR for the UT/LSU game last year I didn't get as much trash talking as I thought I would. What I got a lot of though was "Hey we'll trade you Miles for Dooley!" I know things would be different this yr, but I got it everywhere we walked on campus.

They really respect Dooley from his time at LA TEch, and has a good reputation. I liked Dooley prior to all of this, but all this really sealed up the deal for me.

Why do you even post on this forum? Go back to your Florida forum and quit bothering us.

I like Dooley and am pulling hard for him to succeed. But I have no clue if he's a top coach or not and the jury is going to be out a good while.

We took CDD in part because of the awful timing of the Lane exit. GA, if the rumors are true, will have plenty of time to evaluate and choose a replacement. I'm thinking they'd go after a name coach with a good winning pct. - or a top assistant like Smart.

A better rumor would be Muschamp to GA. Gator fans are being awfully tough on him right now...apparently he's not feeling the love. And it could get a lot worse this weekend.

Dooley will be here for awhile. Get used to it.

Vince Dooley is at logger heads with Adams, the UGA president for some reason that I can't recall.

The coaching staff will look like geniuses when they have players who can execute the plays and they can bring in good replacements due to injury or attrition. Many have questioned the Mad Hatter's decisions, but the SOB is close to winning the NC. Good players make great coaches and DD is bringing them in. For all of you who are praying for another coaching change---forget it. Dooley will be fine. A coaching change means another set back.

Adams declined to renew Vince's last contract and forced him into retirement. It was probably the right move from a business perspective since VD was 70 at the time . . . but there are still hard feelings in a lot of circles that Vince didn't get to leave on his terms after being at UGA so long.

Yeah and then they did a nice PC hire...and we all know where that took 'em.

Exactly, and not to mention the pressure of the UT fanbase. Expectations are high. At LA Tech, win 4 or 5 games and your job is secure. Not the case at UT.

I heard that she is up for dean of medicine at Georgia. Anyone else heard this?

Considering Georgia doesn't have a medical school, I find that hard to believe. UGA has a medical "partnership" with Georgia Health Sciences University. I think it's in Augusta, but I could be wrong.

I guess we can post whatever bull**** we want now, as long as we label it as *extremely goofy rumor*.

The thread title does say "extremely goofy rumor," but I see where you're coming from now. I suppose it's along the lines of "Gruden has land and family in East Tennessee."

You'll have to forgive me. With the average stupidity of the American moron it's getting very difficult to distinguish the facetious from the serious -- especially over the interwebs.

Despite how it ended, Damon Evans is a sharp guy and he's a UGA guy. I can see why they made the move.

Obama is a "real sharp" guy too....:cray:

Not trying to make this a race deal, but I'm not a fan of PC decisions no matter what color or sex you are. I see it everyday in corporate life, and everyone is like "I don't know why he's not working out or doesn't get it"...really??? It has nothing to do with the govt forcing a diversity program down your throat....

I'm sure his skin color had nothing to do with why he was given the job though....
