That was weak. Your irrational hatred of them is clouding your judgement. It's kinda funny actually. You like to talk about the irrelevant past beforehand and quickly dismiss a beat down.

My posts have been quite consistent. I have stated I don't give a damn about the distant past. I care about the present; last season is still the present because it is the most recent football season. When I talk about program, I am only talking present tense and with respect to the ability of the team. Everything else (fans, stadium, facilities, history, etc) doesn't mean a damn thing when you're getting your ass kicked 41-18. All those intangibles factor into program potential which is defined many times as "best available job". They in no way are direct reflections of the current state of the program with reguard to the product on the field.

As for "eager to argue for Vandy", I nothing Vandy. I don't love, hate, like, or dislike them. I honestly never think about them if we aren't playing them. However, I am fair. I am not going to mindlessly belittle them because I am a UT alumnus. I give credit where credit is due and criticize where critizism is warranted (UT).

If you think my post was weak, well, it was argued with your logic so, it is what it is

You clearly are one of the most logically inconsistent posters on here. And you're giving way too much credit to a rival at the expense of your team by the way. Not sure how 2011, 2010, 2009 etc is the distant past either. Youre trying way too hard prop up vandy and everybody sees it, which, along with you illogical reasoning, is why you got called out by multiple posters here.

This futile argument is tired, I move on.

By the way, saw where Vandy lost a 3 star quarterback who had signed for the '13 class in February. He was rated 5.7 by Rivals. Don't know for sure, but I'm thinking that vandys total score gets reduced by at least 90 pts (the value assigned to a player with his rating) thereby dropping their score below that of the University of Tennessee's.

Does anybody know if this is accurate?

Does it matter?

Seriously, why is that important? Who cares? What happens on the field is all that matters.

"I think the early commitment is actually bad for UT. They have to defend him for almost an entire year while every other top program (including VU) pursues the kid."

I shot beer through my nose on this one.

Dear Santa, all I want for Christmas this year is to hang 100 on Candy in November.

I'll tell you why it matters, to me anyway. Cause I'm sick of hearing all the Butch /New staff naysayers constantly spout the throwaway line "we got out recruited by Vandy, blah blah blah". Especially when it was basically a wash due to # of recruits, according to Rivals (24/7 had us ranked higher). That's why! I'm sick of hearing it so I wanted to be accurate before I threw it back in their face. It's out of pure spite. That help?

Didn't Vandy lose a recruit or something and drop in the rankings?

No one will know which team out-recruited which team until they line up on the field. The game isn't played on paper or by subjective recruiting rankings.

They lost a 3 star qb signee from Cali. Kid's heading to Princeton instead. I assume this will drop them a couple spots in Rivals based on his rating/points (5.7/~90) but wasn't sure.

You completely missed or chose to ignore my point. No big deal. Don't need the lecture, that wasn't even remotely the point. What matters on the field- I know that, got it. I'm talking about the butch haters who wanted to use their "Butch got out recruited by Vandy" line every time they went on a rant about how he was a bad hire. Made that very clear, very evident in my post.

Again, how does a person know who out recruited who?...it's only March. In March, it doesn't matter. To the people that get hung up over this stuff and say, "Butch got out recruited by Vandy" need to get a life.

Incorrect sir.

I played a game of paper football with my wife yesterday. Had Vols written on one side and Vandy on the other (Wife is a Vandy Grad). I kicked her arse 48-14. I used 2013 recruit names everytime I flicked the paper...she didn't know the Vandy recruits names...which I figured was about par for the course.

We whipped dey azz!

I agree with what you said, philosophically. We can't know until we see which kids perform, pan out, how the teams play, etc. got it. And I agree with you about the idiots who said Butch was outrecruited by Vandy. We agree there cause what you said was logical and reasoned.

But that's not what I'm about at this point. I am admittedly being petty here. I just want some empirical data as to how Rivals currently ranks the '13 class now that Vandy lost their qb signee, who was a 3 star with a 5.7 rating. I want to see what they dropped to because I suspect it will put them lower than #21, thereby meaning that UTs class was rated high, by Rivals

I want to be able to throw this point back in the haters' faces. THAT VANDY, in fact, at the end of the day, DID NOT "OUTRECRUIT" UT. That's all. I feel like getting in the gutter with em for just a second about this pretty much meaningless statistic and then be done with it.

I laughed more than I should have at this post.
