I believe the NCAA got this one right. Dude appears to have some serious issues and may need lots of help if he wants to take his talents to the NFL next year. They won't put up with his act in the league either.

Holy Shat Batman!!! nice avi.:good!:

You know...you can take a program down brick by brick too. Between them losing Shannon, Mixon, and DGB, that's 3 pretty big bricks.

Would LOVE to see us get the W in Norman. You want to talk about a perception and program changer. Wow!

None. What's your problem? This is a football forum not politics or anything else.

There's no separating those 3 topics anymore. Politics (less so for religion) has invaded sports and we can't escape it.

Michael Sam
The Redskins name being racist
Donald Sterling
Bob Costas lecture on gun control during halftime

The list goes on. Its nauseating...why can't I just watch a game without being told I must change my stance of this issue or that issue? Leave me the crap alone. There are plenty of other viewing options if I want to engage in political thought.

You know, I was the one preaching Okie is for real this year, and that was the one game I was sure we would fall to. The closer it gets, the more I think we might actually pull that ish off. Okie can't seem to keep a player on the field with suspensions and (Unfortunate) injuries. Now this. Why not us?

No one (other than OU itself) was really claiming he would be cleared by the NCAA...I don't think anyone was really expecting that he'd be playing this year.

How did they "lose" DGB when he was never going to be playing to begin with, though? OU was pretty much trying to get the NCAA to clear him on an exception rule (or possibly loophole) that was used by Oklahoma State for an LSU player...

Would it have shocked you if they let him play? I wouldn't have been. I am glad they denied him though.

I think only a few player cases have been cleared through this (and while I can't say for certain, I'm not sure any of them had to leave their school / lost their scholarship for reasons/activities like this).

It would have been pretty surprising.

Frankly it is because you are not in college anymore and are realizing/or should be realizing that life is about more than beer, sex, and thinking you know more than your elders. Although If I had a time machine. . . .(please someone insert the pic from the thread that will never die after a this shred of clarity)

You may like your bubble but if you don't pay attention someone else will take it from you. Sucks getting old don't it.

Later rednecks:popcorn:

Of the three players mentioned in this thread, only one would be considered a loss for the 2014 Sooners & he is still on the team & practicing pending a ruling by the OK Supreme Court and likely law suit that will follow if he loses the appeal.

DGB was never in our plans until this whole thing evolved and Joe Mixon was probably going to come out of fall camp as the #3 or #4 RB on the depth chart.

It should be of some concern to Vol. fans that Derrick Wood, the WR who made the circus catch vs Alabama in the Sugar Bowl is running with the 2's so by any measuring stick, the OU WR unit looks to be as strong as ever.

If you are hanging your collective hats on a win based on the three players involved in these separate incidents, you are making a big mistake.

And this has been the most injury free fall camp we have had in years.

Not sure Vols have a hat to hang after the past 5 seasons.

Jesus can change ANYBODY! I pray the guy gets his LIFE straightened out before his football career! Enormous talent but needs to get his character under control.

For Jesus to change him, I have come to believe that first people who need the change have to allow it. And in most but not all cases like DGB, they have too much self pride for that to happen quickly. The way of the world.

Biopsyman.....a well thought our and clever post. Three years from now, regardless of what happens @ OU, DGB is going to be a very wealthy idiot.
