When I was younger I also felt justified in standing as much as I wanted and forget about others around me. I also was one of those that got yelled to sit down . As a few years went by and I started taking my elderly parents to games who had been fans longer than most of the posters on here have been alive, my attitude quickly changed. They couldn't stand up quickly or sit down without alot of effort. Was I suppose to to tell them that they shouldn't attend because of their age? I know my father who passed away recently was one of the biggest Tennessee fan ever. And I will never regret for one second taking my feebled father to UT games because it brought him so much happiness and pride to watch his alma mater play. I think everyone can still have a good time and be considerate of others.

Still, it's not about being a douche, it's being able to enjoy the game within the terms of the arena rules. As long as they're not being broken, tough sh!t.

I don't stand all game, but there are plenty of times when they need crowd support, and I'll stand for a defensive possession when everyone else is sitting down. No one has ever been butthurt at me for it, but if they were, I would kindly say I'll sit after we get the ball back.

In the same way you don't want others to douche and stand in the way, you can't be a douche to those same people.
