Alright, so, this season, I'm making my college football bets public for the heck of it. Hatvol, keep your rhetoric about true sharps keeping their bets to themselves ... to yourself! :) Anyway, each week, I will update my bets for the week. You can follow along and laugh at me or celebrate with me. So, without further ado, here are the bets I placed today at bowmans.com

TCU (-6.5) @ Baylor

Houston @ Rice (+14)

Cal @ Tennessee (+2.5) {sidenote: I never have bet a UT game, and this is a first and last. UT was originally -2.5, and the public moved it to +2.5. On important games like this, you can find strong value by fading (aka - going against) the public.}

Hawaii (+16) @ Alabama

Idaho (+29) @ Michigan State

Akron @ Penn State OVER 43.5

Vanderbilt (+26) @ Michigan

Nevada (+13) @ Fresno State

Alright, 8 games. I will make .90 on ever $1 I bet due to house juice. Let's hope I get at least 5 correct so I can make a little money, and in turn, be able to place 7-8 bets next week.

Just saying, I have made a bet the Vols win 7 games. I made this bet with a Vol hater who thinks 6 or less.

Made a bet with him last year that Tenenssee wins 6 games, and we know how that turned out.

Not that I don't like your picks, but parlays are pretty much like throwing your money away. From the stats I've read, you won't hit it enough to make money in the long term. Good luck, though, I'm now rooting for those teams!

i do a parlay week one every season. i have yet to hit, but i usually do something insane, like 12 games. this year i figured i would at least make it possible. i changed my mind before i put it in by the way.

USC -8
UCLA -3
TCU -7
Akron/ Penn St. over 44
Mich./ Vandy over 48

thanks for you support though. i must say i wasn't even looking at the akron/ penn st. over til i saw your thread, i like it though. the TCU has been tempting me for a while

I liked the over a ton when I placed the Akron/PSU bet, but since then, a lot of people are talking about the new college time rules will hinder some of Week 1's over bets. Apparently, nobody, including Vegas, knew how much of an impact these new rules would have on scoring.

Who knows, though?

Oh, and the TCU line opened at 8.5, so I waited to see where it would go. When it moved to 6.5, I was ecstatic.

It's looking good for you. They just scored to make it a 7 point game

I hope you had an 8-game parlay on that! Nice job!

had i gone with the crap i was talking earlier in the week with hawaii, tcu, usc, and ucla all covering, and texas going over by themselves, i might have made some money

good calls on the games my friend.

like your pitt pick

i've already voiced my thoughts on v tech

miami (oh) is a brave choice, i wouldnt go near that game

uab seems solid

northern illinois could probably be -25.5 and i would still consider taking it

i agree on the last one too, but it may be close, like Tech wins by 10 and you are pulling your hair out in the 4th quarter.

UTEP may have beaten SDSU, but they were completely outclassed. SDSU outgained UTEP 384-243, and ou-1st-downed 22-12. They only racked up 38 yards rushing, scored one TD on a fumble return, and Palmer threw 4 TDs. Texas Tech is better than SDSU at every position. Could get ugly.

Obviously I disagree with the UAB pick... only because I hope its wrong for selfish purposes.

Every other one looks good and that's how I went with my pick'ems.

At halftime of the Boise/OSU game, I placed a unit on Boise -4 for the 2nd half. They are up 7 in the 2nd, so hold on Broncos!
