Thats very possible. Its might want to get out of the instability of the ACC. Also its been reported that he was upset about his ranking in the polls before the florida game. some people have said he wants to coach in the SEC. I dont know how true this is though

Yeah, I don't really buy this line of the instability bit. FSU is a major program that will be picked up by a major conference if the ACC collapses. Might be a different story with a different program, but not for FSU.

Not entirely relevant to your post, but you also always hear "heard HC so and so is upset with the fan base - feels they doesn't respect him enough." It is rumored for every big name coach unlikely to leave with 0% corroboration. Heard the same thing with Bob Stoops and countless others.

Jimbo Fisher is a terrible coach, and it's hilarious that people are trying to pretend he isn't because they think he may be hired.

Smart was the plan a year ago is what I heard from some connected bammers..... Figured he was out after the DD firing press conference when Hart said HC was a must.

I can't believe we've gone from Tarzan to another satanite. I know Smart might be awesome at some point, but if we had a true shot at Gruden and Hart screwed that over to hire Fisher, Strong or Smart then I hope the $$$$ hand him his walking papers ASAP.

Exactly. Whoever wrote that didn't bother listening to Hart's press conference, where he stated clearly that HEAD COAHING experience was a critical consideration. He practically stated that coordinators need not apply.

No chance its Smart. Strong is by far the best option. Doubt Jimbo leaves FSU but im fine with Strong or Fisher. Both are great recruiters and have SEC ties.

Dont understand the Gundy lovefest. His teams have finished above 81st in defense in his 8only yrs. Same damn problem we had last year. No thanks. And Bielema doesnt exactly have top notch defenses either. Strong, Fisher or Patterson.

Yeah, he is only averaging 10 win seasons in his three year span there. FSU hasn't had a 10 win season since 2003. Clearly he is a terrible coach.

People bring up this idea that "he lost to teams he shouldn't have". All coaches do.

Saban lost to aTm this year, LSU last year. He has better talent than either. He shouldn't be hired.

Recruiting to bama under saban is easy, don't know how much credit to give to smart. See sal. smart has not had to do it on his own yet.
Recruiting to fl under Meyer is easy, don't know how much credit to give to strong. Not top recruiting classes at UL.
At least in jimbo, you can see his actual results. Much, much better than strong.

Well, I would want Smart over many of the people that have been mentioned, despite the idea that another Alabama coaches makes me nauseated. Yeah, its risky getting someone whose notoriety is simply as an assistant and as a recruiter. I am holding out for a proven HC in a good conference. Hart did seem to put a lot of importance on the HC thing.
