ESPN's Dr. Punch is on with Hyams. Believes that Hart ID'd his #1 candidate and has already made the hire. Didn't say when the announcement would be made, but he said he wouldn't be surprised if Hart already had it wrapped up.

I get the feeling this is more specualtion than factually based.

He really didn't elaborate. He said that this search, relative to the others he's observed, is different in the fact that no pertinent info has been leaked. Needless to say, Hyams was caught off guard.

I don't know what to make of it, but that's what he said.

Bigger nascar guy but used to be the main sideline reporter with the main abc/espn college football crew for many years

The key is used to be before ABC and ESPN had a shared interest. Punch is not a football insider at all and never was. If he reports Jimmy Johnson is leaving Hendrick, then you should listen.

I know the season ended in disappointment, but that's drastic.
