According to Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi, UNC Quarterback Drake Maye was offered $5 million in NIL money by 2 different schools. Narduzzi doesn't disclose the 2 schools, except to say 'take 2 of the top 10', which probably doesn't strictly mean teams ranked top 10 at the moment, but 2 that are routinely up there on NIL.

Who are your all's guesses on the 2 schools?

Georgia is my best guess on the 1st one. Florida, Texas A&M, Bama, USC (looks like Caleb Williams will still be there), and Ohio State are all possibilities on the 2nd. It's possible, but seems unlikely, that we went after him (seems more likely we've tried to get Hartman than Maye).

Given what he did this season, if he goes to UGA or BAMA, yuck.
He is Bryce Young level in the making.
Tough to defend a 4000yd passer with almost 700yds on the ground.
I would prefer he go to College Station and disappear into their witness protection system for 5* talent next season.

Mack has him sitting in on the OC interviews for the UNC position. Who's leading the team?

You got a top QB that UGA and Bama will pay 5 million to, at a basketball school!!
Mac is doing whatever makes him happy!!!
What would you do?

Wouldn't let a player sit on meetings/interviews. Discuss what he is looking for in a coach but outside of that, he's player (high market value player, but still a player)

Well in the NBA players literally pick their coach. Lebron. He’s paid more and more important than the coach.
May at UNC isn’t that much different.
70 yr old Mack can be replaced a lot easier than May

Both can be replaced. Pulling up next to Lebron in regards to team decisions isn't the same for a solid QB1 in the ACC. I get where you're coming from but this college sports.

Georgia is my best guess on the 1st one. Florida, Texas A&M, Bama, USC, Ohio State, and Penn State all possibilities on the 2nd. It's possible, but seems unlikely, that we went after him (seems more likely we've tried to get Hartman than Maye).

I think he’s a headcase. I wouldn’t necessarily believe him.

He nonstop complains. He’s run his mouth consistently for 6 months about everything. He still thinks that they beat us because he says Bru’s touchdown catch was illegal touching. He needs to STFU for a little while.

And why is he talking to Drake Maye, since he’s not in the portal? That’s tampering.

Maybe but Mack Brown suggested this as well (only w/o the dollar amounts). Narduzzi is likely repeating what he heard from Mack Brown.

Read the article. Mack Brown suggests it's thru agents that can't be connected to the university.

He's not leaving UNC.

Sounds like Drake Maye told Mack Brown about this, but has no intention of leaving.

Drake Maye’s family is UNC royalty. He wasn’t going to leave. The thing that bugs me is when UNC and Mack play this whole pure as the driven snow act. They’re not. I know for a fact that they gave $50K for a dlineman that we were in the running for.

To me he's trying to keep up out of desperation. Agree, it's changed but open this box up and you'll have HS kids calling the shots and bringing in HS HC/OC/7 v 7 coach as a package.

Wouldn’t surprise me if some already are making demands

Kids learning from Gundy and Sexton.

Your "not quite an employer" doesn't want you to leave. Get a story out there that you're heavily sought after by someone else. Get your NIL raised.

It's been working for coaches for years. Now it should work for players too.
