Drinkwitz - "We stand on business"

So he got his brains beat in by Heupel twice and then ran his mouth the one time he did beat him. I was in the stands. I had some little Mizzou fan run his mouth at me after the game so excited that they had beat us in the three major sports through that point. Guy even said he lived in Knoxville. Pathetic. I won’t forget…Josh certainly won’t forget. We will not lose to them for the next decade. Mark it down. As much as I hate losing to Bama, Uga etc….it’s tough to take losses to schools that don’t even belong in the discussion just as much.

After reading the article the "We stand on business" comment makes a lot more sense. At the time it was beyond bizarre and I'm not sure why it took this long to get an accurate explanation.

I hate losing. I hate losing to lowly Mizzou (they earned it, however). But... I am a coach. And what you do with your locker room and how you treat your word as your bond is everything in coaching.

I don't like Drinkwitz. However, I don't hate what he did with the "we stand on business" comment now that I understand what the hell it was about. His team stood up for him and refused to get pushed around and he made a stand for his team in response. The fact that he knew he would look like a jackass to the media and Tennessee is hilarious though.

Irregardless I hope we crush their souls each time we meet again. And I hope Heupel returns the favor with something similar... maybe "Vols by Fiddy."

So... maybe a good direction for this thread would be... original ideas for what Heupel should say to Drinkwitz after the next Vols win over Mizzou.

And, Go!
Heupel will never comment on any other coach’s antics. Instead, he’ll just go score 60 on them. For the record, explanation aside, that guy is just plain weird.

It's just a nonsensical phrase: "we stand on business." What can that even possibly mean?

I mean, I get phrases like, "take care of business." Or "we stand on principle."

But "we stand on business" makes no sense.

He might as well have formed a pact with his players using the phrase, "he the whole flashlight," or, "all you base are belong to us."

It just makes no sense. The dude is a stone-cold idiot, busily leading his players to be idiots, as well.

Go Vols!

I agree with what you said. Just remember this is a head coach who literally jumped into an assistant’s arms full go and squeezed his legs around him…..in front of a camera. All occurring, I believe, because a recruit had just committed to Mizzou.

Shaking heupel’s hand and looking him in the eye would’ve been taking care of his responsibilities. Drinkwitz did the opposite, high tailing it out of there like a bïtch after showing his asś like a whore.
something tells me ol Dorkwitz was bullied as a child and maybe that was his first opportunity to thumb his nose at the popular kid

Or "Sweaty nads are the devil's playground". I think Woodsman just highjacked my account:eek:.

You could tell he practically had an erection as he scooted his fat ass away, nervously giggling about what he’d just said to a national champ winning, heisman finalist former QB.

Reminds me of a kid in my high school who got cut from the basketball team, and then talked **** to me from the crowd when I missed a free throw.

He certainly achieved his goal of looking a fool.

He’s a loser. Finally got one on us after we scored over 120 points on them the two seasons prior. If we meet them again Heupel will keep the gas on until the final second of the fourth quarter.

Piss poor excuse. Shouldn't have told his team he'd say it because he looks like a jackass either way and only made this year and every year after harder for him going forward.

Agreed. Maybe “hey guys pizzas on me if we win this game”. Not some stupid catchphrase.

Should teaches men to be more humble. You get obliterated two years in a row by a team and then you get a win and you want to poke the bear? I know you got pride in your team. But you know good and damn well the Tennessee is going to be the team to put the product on the field year in and year out. The next time our two teams meet, it's going to be very personal.

Actions speak louder than words.
Hand 70+ on them the next time we meet, shake hands with him and with a sarcastic smile say “good game” and walk off………

He will go for two points after every touchdown and do a few onside kicks to get the ball back sooner 😂. We breaking 70 on that day friends

He should say good game and then go to the locker room. Anything in excess of that sentiment is bad sportsmanship. That’s why Dorkwitz knew he would get roasted. Because he was a bad sportsman for saying it.

I doubt Heup will forget it. I also think the Vols couldn’t have laid a bigger turd that night.
UT got payback against South Carolina. They will get payback from Missouri one day.

Don't care. They beat us fair and square.

They get to run their mouths a little bit. So be it.

Lest we forget, Milton was throwing deep on them in 22 in the 4th when we were way up.

As long as there is still time on the clock, the other team is free to do as they wish as long as it abides by the rules of the game Not Mizzus fault that our D couldnt stop a pee wee team that day.

I am sure we will repay the favor in Neyland during the 25 season.
Those games were not the same but keep carrying Dorkiwitz water.
