What is the difference between what Pearl did in lying to NCAA and what Tressel did in lying for 6 months to his school and the NCAA? You think Buckeye nation is calling for THEIR coaches' head? Heck, the university president basically pledged man-love for him! I know he was wrong...and I know he lied...but I believe that Tressel is Pearl's saving grace. If they hammer Pearl...then they HAVE to hammer Tressel...and I don't think they want to do that because they are in bed with OSU. I don't know...maybe I just dread our program going back to the days of Wade Houston, Jerry Green, Kevin O'Neil, and Buzz Peterson. Home run hires are NOT automatics. And I hate losing!

Tressel will get his...don't worry. Wait until football season rolls around, or nothing on but the piss-ass NBA.

Tarnishes our reputation? SERIOUSLY? Lane Kiffin did more damage here than Bruce Pearl EVER could and people were ticked that he LEFT! Many of us were drinking his Kool-Aid...

And don't start with me on school reputation. EVERY major program is having issues. Auburn, Alabama, Miss St, Georgia, OSU, UConn, Oregon...and the list goes on and on. You want to be spotless and lily white? Go pull for Vandy...with the NCAA manual the way it is and their non-stop hypocrisy people will FOREVER be violation rules and getting in trouble.

Yeah, about that. I don't see a whole lot more happeneing to Tressel, other than the forfeiture of games from last year. Never really undestood why that is such bad punishment. You go to the game and enjoy the victory. Don't really feel the sting of defeat two years later.

Are you saying OSU's is just beginning? That guy was dirty at Youngstown...he's been dirty at OSU before (Clarett) and he is dirty now. Maybe if Bruce hadn't painted his chest and wore an orange jacket...and instead just wore a sweater vest we would be more rational. I hope all of you "fire Bruce" people keep your freaking mouth shut when we are praying to God for an NIT bid for the next 5-8 years.

Heaven forbid someone be rational and desire to keep our basketball coach. When CLK was attracting all kinds of negative attention including the NCAA, I don't remember this much venom.

I was asking what is the difference between the two. I can't understand why the masses in Ohio are supporting their coach and we are running ours off. It is confusing to me unless there are differences that I am missing.

These Pearl haters have to use the defense that it tarnishes the school to make them sound noble. A lot of them are lawyers and you can believe that nothing is sacrosanct to them. Tressel will get suspended two games.

They are NOT going to suspend him for two years. I just don't believe that. They would have to do similar to Tressel and I don't see it happening. As far as who coaches during the suspension? I am not sure at this moment...but I would take one step back in our program...or maybe even 2...in order to return to the elite in 3-4. Who out there do YOU think is going to take this job and lead us to that level? Give me a name...

I hope you are right, but not so sure. The media coverage will be telling. All Vol fans should watch the ESPN's of the world and hold them accountable,with E mail,twitter and letters to the editors, call in shows. Anything else we can do. Thanks Go Vols:loco:

I don't think the NCAA gives a damn about making punishments equal. If they want to hammer Pearl and go easy on Tressel they will do whatever they want to do. I hate the NCAA.
