Actually I think you are wrong...the players are suspended 5 games. Tressel on the other hand is suspended 2 games at this point I believe. I will be interested to see a comparison of punishment once both of these cases are settled.

It happened late last week. To me it just shows that people were not buying a 2 game suspension so he raised it to 5 in an attempt to appease. The heat is getting hotter and IMO will continue to rise. This is why people who try to compare the Pearl situation to Tressel’s are silly. One is at the end of their investigation and one is at the beginning.

Heck after watching this whole pearl situation unfold, if i was tressel i wouldnt agree to any more suspension until the ncaa ruled. Reason being I dont think the 8 games will be factored in a great deal once punishment is handed down.

Those who question the firing of Bruce Pearl have evidently never taken the time to study his history.
Take a trip to wikipedia. Spend a little time reading.
Then take some time and study his history at Milwaukee.
The question isn't why he was fired but why he was ever hired at Tennessee.
