Was just wondering if anybody saw the straight disrespect we took on EA’s latest trailer?? They used Nico and Milroe as the quarterbacks to show off their “new” trait system. Nico was the quarterback that didn’t have the “mentally strong” trait or whatever that’ll be called in the game. Idk how you come up with that, but whatever.

And then when they were talking about playbooks they said “you can run anything from the triple option at AF to the wide splits of Oklahoma”. I was shocked. They don’t even have Lebby anymore. I thought this was the first time a college video game would come out and we’d actually get credit for being on the cutting edge of football. But nah Oklahoma is getting the credit lol.

It’s not that big of a deal, but it is funny to see the constant non respect we get. Oklahoma gets praised for practically running the same offense we do, when we get criticized for it. In the NFL draft, in the media, and even in a virtual video game. Do people even know Lebby is from Heupel’s tree?? And even worst Oklahoma has only really had one good year running it 😂

Find something else to be mad about bro. Be happy we were even presented in the video at all. Before Heupel got here, we’d be like all the other nobodies in the SEC and wouldn’t even have been in the video at all. We’re important enough as a team and fan base that they showed the Vols multiple times throughout the video and even showed Purcell laying out the OU QB.

I really hope you aren't any older than about 12. Disrespect? You have to be kidding. Obviously it's a freaking video game, but really, they showed a redshirt freshman QB on the road at Georgia (and down by 6). That is the perfect example to use for showing off the feature. Also, if you bothered to read the article, we're referenced later alongside OU in the wide formations. Grow up and chill out.

Our QB got referenced as not mentally strong and they gave Oklahoma credit for Heupel’s offense.
No, they were showing the different abilities that separate the freshman and upperclassmen. One that is obviously rare for freshman is the one for play art squiggly on the road and stadium rockin. Which they can gain I assume from the video. I think it's fair to say 99% of freshman QBs would not be mentally prepared right from the start.

They referenced wide splits, which OU uses, I'm not following the diss. Heupel didn't invent wide splits. Heck, most of Heupel offense is found in Art Briles concepts. Same as Ole Miss, which is more like the Leach version of the Briles offense. I still don't understand.

Lolz, the squiggly lines on the road in a rocking stadium have been a part of Road to Glory for many years now when you have a freshman QB. Nothing worth crying about.

The game looks too complicated. I mean “wear and tear”??? Who played the old game with injuries turned on? Mental ability??? Dumb thing to put into a game. I hope you can still turn this stuff off.

I'm sure the English version of whatever you just posted is beyond profound.

If you "don't understand", then further conversation between us is pointless. OU uses the "wide splits" installed by LEBBY. That was off the Heupel tree. He uses a different variation than what Lebby learned from Briles. And Nico is a REDSHIRT freshman with a bowl victory start on his resume. Mebbe that's a minimal credit, but it shows some inherent laziness on their part imo. These are opinions OF opinions...so I wouldn't concern myself with getting everybody on the same page.

Their comment makes perfect sense to someone who’s played the game before. Clearly you haven’t.
Ten years ago. Admittedly haven't beta tested this one. If I offended nerd sensitivities, please accept humblest apologies.

So they're dissing Briles since they all stem from his philosophy. That darn EA. Respect Briles already. Make sure when you reference wide splits you tell everybody that it came from Briles and the current Heupel version is the only one that's worth mentioning.......If anything they gave quite a bit of praise and exposure as they showcased the Vols in several gameplay shots including Smokey. Seems to me you just want to be mad. It's kinda childish.

A redshirt freshman who never saw the field against Florida, South Carolina, A&M, Alabama, Kentucky, Missouri, or Georgia. Those environments are a lot different than a neutral site vs Iowa. Getting this bent out of shape about it is baffling.

That's consistent with the way the old games worked. Players with experience generally had a higher "composure" score. Nothing to get your panties in a wad about.

Well it’s 2024! Briles last coached Baylor (or any team in AMERICA) in 2015. Many of the techs were likely in middle school or lower, so this would be akin to “dissing” Knute Rockne or Bo Schembechler for referencing a run oriented offense as Harbaugh’s. 😅 Not “mad”…this is a discussion where I understand the OP’s point and don’t get huffy about it…unlike you, Champ. 😉

Buy that Jumping To Conclusions anniversary mat, already! 😅 Thought we were exchanging opinions? You’re far from straight. OP questions their ratings and I concur. Good luck CALMING ME DOWN…Mr. Baffled. End of day, sales will be the same either way. You got stock in EA or something? 😏

To be fair as great as Nico is going to be he’s still an unproven first year starter. Can’t really blame them for not giving him a “mentally strong” trait. Plus it was of our guys tackles that took out the OU QB in the trailer anyways so they gave us some respect 🤣

No, but between you getting this pissy about one small piece of the game and a poster in the other video game thread crying about how they tiered the school payments, you should get together and make your own game maxes out Tennessee at all 99s and everyone else at 20s since that's only thing that will make you happy about it.
