EA’s gameplay deep dive

We caught them at a good time. 11 a.m. kick there is a totally different situation than a night game. LSU lost all their discipline and culture under Coach O, they'll get it back under Kelly but they aren't vintage LSU the last few years. I don't remember their defense being as bad as it was last year since Curly Hallman.
I was there in 05. I’ve seen it at its best for sure. I personally think it’s not in the top 5 of SEC hardest to play stadiums.

Games and situations of win/loss, day/night, etc apply but generally speaking….

Tier 1: Neyland, Swamp, Kyle Field, Norman
Tier 2: Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Auburn, Texas
Tier 3: Carolina, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Miss St
Tier 4: Missouri, Kentucky, Vandy

Loser comment. We beat the brakes off of them and could have ran it up even more. Cheating South Carolina did more than just cheat, they convinced some of our fans that we weren’t as good as we actually were. That was a hell of a team and could have easily beaten anybody.

Play way more than I should. I’ve seen EA buy and ruin many a franchise. Admittedly I’m more into RPG and shooters than college football though.
If they made College BBall still, you could play a franchise with Alabama and be satisfying all your favorites.

Losers always find some outward excuse for a loss instead of looking inward at what they can do better. There is absolutely zero credible evidence South Carolina cheated, but those who want to cling to a victim mentality, cling to it. The 2022 team certainly could have beaten anyone on a given day, but were also capable of losing to alot of teams on any given day, that's college football, always has been. It kind of comes with the territory of it being played mostly by 18-22 year olds. I remember one of Bear Bryant's teams lost 1 game the whole year and that was to Georgia Tech and that was Tech's only win that year, it's not just 2022 Tennessee that got blindsided by an inferior opponent on the road. It happens regularly. My other point was LSU has been far from elite (31-19) since they won their last national championship, not just in 2022, and that's just a fact. As I said, their defense last year (that's 2023 when we didn't even play them so not even a comment on us) was as bad as it has been in decades.

Alot of this is very subjective, and at Tennessee we get alot of just credit for the atmosphere our fans can create but there's also the issue of actually being tough to play at home in the W-L column and that's where we have work to do to justify a #1 ranking in hardest places to play. All 3 of our major rivals essentially own us at Neyland in the 21st century. That's got to change for us to have a legitimate gripe to be #1 toughest place to play in 2024. We've beat 2 of the 3 on their last trip up, hopefully we can build on that this coming year.

Haven’t seen this anywhere so I thought I would share, in the article there is a link to players who are opted in to the game (some who are no longer on the team, I’m guessing “legacy players” or something):

Also, apparently there is still a way for those not opted in (i.e. Z. Heard, J. McCoy, etc.) to change their mind and opt in at a later time if they choose to.

So I'm late to that party but have they removed the ability to edit players???? I saw you can't make recruits correct?

Was just wondering if anybody saw the straight disrespect we took on EA’s latest trailer?? They used Nico and Milroe as the quarterbacks to show off their “new” trait system. Nico was the quarterback that didn’t have the “mentally strong” trait or whatever that’ll be called in the game. Idk how you come up with that, but whatever.

And then when they were talking about playbooks they said “you can run anything from the triple option at AF to the wide splits of Oklahoma”. I was shocked. They don’t even have Lebby anymore. I thought this was the first time a college video game would come out and we’d actually get credit for being on the cutting edge of football. But nah Oklahoma is getting the credit lol.

It’s not that big of a deal, but it is funny to see the constant non respect we get. Oklahoma gets praised for practically running the same offense we do, when we get criticized for it. In the NFL draft, in the media, and even in a virtual video game. Do people even know Lebby is from Heupel’s tree?? And even worst Oklahoma has only really had one good year running it 😂
Atmosphere of road games has an impact on players and even more so on younger guys, that's what that is about. They had some clips of our defense getting after Milroe and Carson Beck too though.

He is a first year starter. He may not be mentally as strong as a senior yet.
