Yeah I've given up on MUT.

Came across this video. Looks like they are adding "motivations" back for signing players, just in time for NCAA. I'm sure we all remember these, some players want to play close to home, play for a contender, etc etc.

Probably the biggest "feature" added to franchise this year. They don't even pretend to care.

Very disappointed that ea continues to thrive as a cash grab entity, the game doesn't even have an official release date and we're already hearing about micro-transactions thru DLC's.
Going to have crazy micro transactions. won’t surprise me if micro transactions are a big thing with recruiting in franchise

Didn’t they last time?

Were microtransactions even that big of a thing back in 2013 (the last time a college football game was out)? I honestly don't remember. I'm pretty sure I remember teams having alternate uniforms built into the game at launch.

They did at launch, but there was a uniform store that you had to pay $5 or something for a uniform update . I think our original Smokie Grays were in the update. That’s the only thing I ever paid for. I’m pretty sure they offered an extra feature w/ recruiting for a charge. I’m really hoping they don’t try and nickel and dime this thing to death.

Or if they do, sell the game for $20.

I am amazed that these game makers have the pricing power that they do; aren't the games still $50-60 to purchase, plus they make you pay for stuff now that used to be included?

Yeah, and a lot of games are even more now with pre order or early access content. I know Madden was like $99 last year for 3 days early and a few MUT packs for cards that would be irrelevant 10 minutes into the game.

I don't mind a $50-60 price for a physical game, but damnit a digital version should be half that.

Depends on the game but for a brand new AAA game for next generation, it's 70.00 now.

I would imagine there are a ton of difficulties in this kind of game. Dealing with the school is one thing, but dealing with rosters and players is a totally different thing. For instance, in the NFL, the draft happens in April, and the new rookies are made between then and the release of the game (Typically August).

How can you put freshmen in the game when they don't arrive on campus (some of them) until June or July, when the game likely will come out? Unless you started trying to go to their high schools after NSD is over, I don't think you could. So, a freshman wouldn't be able to be in the game until their sophomore year, one would guess, unless they're an Early Enrollee, which not all can be.

I'm not sure why a player WOULDN'T want to be a part of this, even though the payout isn't going to be much. The nostalgia of seeing yourself in the game, which for many, would be the only enshrinement of their involvement in college sports, would be great.

I'm looking forward to seeing what everything looks like. I, like others, just hope this game won't be riddled with microtransactions, though I'm sure it will be. Hate those things. Buying the game should be enough.

You'd think a company that made 7 billion last year could come up with a roster update to release around the start of the season. But they won't.

Rumors are Kentucky, Southern Cal, Notre Dame, Army, Navy, Air Force, Troy and New Mexico are not in the game.

I think that probably going to change once all the legal details get ironed out. At least I’ve heard that about Notre Dame.
