As long as he has Sal covered I could care less. I know he is an O guy, but this is the problem on the team now. Who else gives up 40 plus points a game?

We will see within the first week if he lied to us. He said he was going to give us the best staff in college football. I am waiting for it. But, when all is done, we are going to be told that the best staff in the NCAA consists of his current staff at cinc. That will be a tremendous letdown and will lessen my hopes for improvement. Hope it is not true, but bet it will be.

Yep;- and we hired a guy whose team beat Strong twice. Were you on the Strong bandwagon? You people who think Jones beat Dooley are dumb. TN beat Cincinnati. Neither Jones nor Dooley played.

Let Butch get the staff he thinks he needs to win. He knows the state of the Vol Nation and knows we are aching to have a winning season and go bowling. I like this hire, he's proven he can win games with athletes that aren't as talented as the ones UT has and can recruit in the future.

I am sure he will bring a coach or two, but he will upgrade his current staff and will retain at least J Graham. The OP is pulling our legs to get a reaction and he succeeded. Crank posters will continue to haunt this board and think it is funny. Take their posts with a grain of salt and your lives will be much more calm.

I like the enthusiasm and I would love if he could put together the best staff in the country, but there is almost no chance of that coming to fruition.

It will just be another in a long string of disappointments, and won't help to establish credibility with the players and fan base.

i was not pulling anyone's leg, just going off of what i heard on sports monster yesterday morning and i rarely ever listen to any talk radio. tifwuw... at least he is keeping graham that is guaranteed and in stone according to 24/7.

Just pointing out. He has been Coaching Cincy on Kelly's recruits. Has he even shownn he can be a top recruiter? Where are his big wins? Look at the teams he has beaten and the teams he lost to. I will, like most UT fans support Coach Jones 100% and will repost and eat crow in 2-3 years if he "IS" our guy. I just do not feel he was the proven Coach we NEEDED, but maybe none of the ones we needed would come. Shows how far we have fallen. Good luck Coach Jones and thanks for wanting us.

And who's recruits was Strong coaching? It's all about perception I guess. Strong has proven he can recruit more than Jones?? Please explain how you know this. With proof, not conjecture.

Strong vs. Jones is an idiotic debate. Strong took over a 4-8 team and made them 10-2 with a Sugar Bowl berth, Jones took over a 12-1 Sugar Bowl team and made them 9-3.
