There is some good news that I have. If you live north of interstate 40, you're probably not going to see any severe storms. I can't rule it out completely, but the chances are much lower now.
 
The line seems to be weakening substantially

Edit: Tornado Watch has been lifted for all of Tennessee.

It appears that we will not be getting a watch issued. Also, they have downgraded the enhanced risk in Chattanooga to slight risk. Too soon to say definitely, but we may have dodged a bullet.

Yep. Most of the really bad weather is to the SW in AL moving E into GA.
 
So bizarre, for those smarter then me how did the valley make this miss us? Did the cool air get trapped or something?

My guess is that the convection south of us in Alabama and Georgia is preventing the airmass from becoming too unstable. Looking at the Cape right now, the instability is weak.
