What time is it supposed to hit?I'm starting to think that the winter storm watch is being issued more for the timing of the snow than the actual amounts. With the transition likely happening during the busiest time of the morning commute, there will likely be a good amount of wrecks. With them issuing a Winter Storm Watch over an Advisory, it will get more people's attention. Regardless of how much snow we see, there's a really good chance for hazardous travel conditions for most if not all of East TN.
I have to go to work even if there's a foot of snow. Not a fan of snow, but I understand your point
...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM EST /3 AM CST/ TO 4 PM EST /3 PM CST/ TUESDAY...
* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 3 inches expected.
* WHERE...Most of East Tennessee, Southwest Virginia and Southwest North Carolina.
* WHEN...From 4 AM EST /3 AM CST/ to 4 PM EST /3 PM CST/ Tuesday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Since temperatures will be dropping during the day Tuesday, snow and ice covered roadways are likely. Hazardous driving conditions can be expected that will likely impact the morning or evening commute.
