David Aldrich has come out with his Winter Weather Outlook. Here's some highlights:
1. He does mention the weak La Nina, but he doesn't feel that it will be a huge driving factor in our weather. He believes that the negative arctic oscillation will be a bigger factor for this winter.
2. He said that this will be a front loaded winter in terms of temperatures, meaning that December will be the coldest month of the season. He's thinking 3 degrees below normal for December, near normal temperatures for January, and Slightly below normal Temps (between 0 and 1 degree below normal) for February and March.
3. His thoughts on snowfall totals are as follows:
Valley: 7-11 inches
Plateau: 12-16 inches
Mountains (Areas higher up in elevation than Gatlinburg): 55-90 inches
