I have said from the get-go coach O would be here..

However I also said that I know his wife and kids LOVE the New Orleans area...so they are the wild card. We all know if Momma ain't happen...nobody's happy.

Apparently, according to VQ, the Saints have made a pretty serious play to keep Coach O in New Orleans, and that he's on the fence again.

This tells me he must be a pretty good "coach".... Most everyone has been talking of his "recruiting" but there is no recruiting in the NFL.....

Just thinking the same thing.
They need to just give him a East Tennessee Mountain all to himself, and build him a $500,000 house on the top.

Coach O is a GREAT recruiter, and a good position coach...he however is not a very good head coach.

beav, tell us what you know about gonzalas

Word was he is denying interest...but also heard he and Kiffin were supposed to meet this week, but trouble with inclement weather squashed the meeting.

He is a big target on CLK's radar..

I want BGonz...I really think he belongs here

I would love it. Just a lot of factors goes in with him...does he get the UF OC job...or does he get passed over and jump ship. If he does that...you also gotta think Mullen may offer him a high title position at MSU...

If he is offered the FL OC job, he stays. We trump MSU with money and opportunity,:good!:

True on if he gets the OC job at florida...he is the most logical choice on staff...

I don't know however what kind of working relationship he has with Mullen...that could be a deciding factor as well.

You maybe right, but OC @UT > OC@MSU
Heard a rumor, that he was not a lock for the OC @ FL, and that Meyer may go outside current staff. Maybe a Trooper type situation. Give me the Job or Im gone,:salute:

Gregg Brandon who was fired at Bowling Green has a good chance at UF

Doh!!! Lofton4Three was quicker on the mobile with Brandon.

That could be the case. Wouldn't surprise me if he went to Gregg Brandon, although he's reported to have just been offered the Virginia OC job and is close friends with Al Groh. Urban knows Strong is going to be a HC soon. With all the backlash with the latest HC hires it's inevitable. He'll need someone he's confident with on the offensive side of the ball if he will have to get involved with the defense.

Gonzales' been with Urban Meyer since '01 at Bowling Green...plus it looks like CUM(hahhahahahahhah) was an assistant at Col. State when BGonz was a player there. Kind of hard to believe they aren't close and couldn't get over a little spat between the two of them. Still, I'm optimistic.

Well Brandon has ties to UM...he was the OC at BGSU when Meyer was there. He knows the system UM runs, it would be an easy transition.

Also another name that is on that radar is Kerwin Bell. UF alum who is the head coach at Jacksonville University.

If UM stays in house, it's Gonzales. If he goes out...Gonzales is a goner.

On the Gonzales note:

I strongly feel that Urban Meyer will be in South Bend after next season. (I don't see Charlie Weis winning more than 8 games next season. If he doesn't he is gone). Urban has always said that ND is his dream job, and he stated this again this week. If Weis is gone, i say 95% chance Urban will be headed to ND.

So, I think this might be a factor in the Gonzales hire also. If BGonz knows this(and i'm sure he does) he would be smart to take the OC here if we offer. If there would be a new coach in Gainesville in 2010, his job could be in jeopardy. If he comes here, job security is higher. Just another thought.

Or he could stay and take the OC job at Florida and plan to pursure the head coaching job at Florida when Meyer leaves. Maybe if that was his thinking.

I haven't seen a picture, but Gonzales doesn't sound like it either..
