GMAC looked better than Merk. Aguilar is the best QB we have as of right now. It’s great we got Joey, but he has a mountain to climb to be the day one starter. This is Jake’s team until Joey proves otherwise, if for no other reason than knowing the offense better. Coach Heup will lean on that for sure. It may take a few games before we really know what we have.
If Merk played last year at app st, how would he look against Clemson? You can't go by that game, App state doesn't have anywhere near the talent of Clemsonthat Clemson game tells me:
1. He isn't very accurate.
2. He doesn't read the field. It's "throw to a place". He isn't looking at coverage.
3. He is reckless in his decisions.
Scary. But we don't have to count on him. If we let him start and he turns into a problem, let Merk take the reigns.
Quick decisions are a key for Coach Heupel's offense.Hooker made them.Nicp was a little slower. If this guy fromApp. St./UCLA can make them quickly.he could be a help for our Vols and the two "M's"qb's we have here now and the number 1 qb coming in 26.
Nothing you stated changes anything I said. He wasn't inaccurate because he was under pressure. He was just flat out inaccurate. That has a lot to do with those interceptions. If Merk played last year at app st, how would he look against Clemson? You can't go by that game, App state doesn't have anywhere near the talent of Clemson
Someone claimed that Coach did not close Angeli because that QB wanted a commitment for him to be the starter. I get that Angeli wants to be the number one, but that story did not seem believable. A fair competition is all any player should expect and the only promise he should receive. I thought Angeli was the right guy for the job, who would take care of the football and get it where it needs to go. That is not my impression of Aguilar. My hope is that he will become a better QB with better coaching and better players around him. He is very talented and plays without fear. He will need to be disciplined with ball control in practice if he expects to play. No QB has perfect games, but INTs must be held to an irreducible minimum to win hard fought games. Then you’ve never competed at anything have you? Zero chance CJH told him he would be the starter. No coach would do that and no athlete worth a shat would want him to. Competing for the starting job is expected by all.
is there a way that the 'powers that be' can stop showing photos of that Nico dude in the Orange and White?...it sickens me to see his mug wearing the uniform he deserted
I agree with SaraJoe was injured early in the 6th quarter into the season, so he played about five quarters as Hooker also got time in the first game. Some folks here have this meme in their head as if Milton played half the season, sucked it up and Heupel just wouldn't replace him. The guy was coming off two solid performances against Vandy and Clemson.
Five quarters.
Or run out of bounds.. did I say that?.
At least he throws it. Nico would dance around until he got sacked.
I do like that he does have a very quick releaseOr run out of bounds.. did I say that?I liked Nico and I think he still has tons of potential but he did sometimes take way too long to get rid of the ball.. and he’s really not our concern any more, so there’s that … some things( or people) can be coached while other things or people cannot ..Exhibit A: Will Levis
