A lot of us doubted. And justifiably so. We have been through a lot, and all of a sudden we get Central-Freakin'-Florida's coach? Some in here will pretend they 'knew' all along, but most of us were not blown away.

I'm happy to have been wrong. I remember that Basilio said for a log time that Tennessee just needed a few pieces of GOOD luck to turn it around. Heupel was one piece, and he got here to another - Hooker. Who saw THAT coming either?

Two good luck pieces, and as it turns out, Heupel is a helluva coach.

Heup has always been a helluva coach. He was an SEC OC who put up big time numbers. He earned major street cred as a legit QB whisperer. Anyone who didn’t know Heup could coach was just a drive by Volfan imo.

The issue was how fast he could turn around the dumpster fire we handed him, or IF he (or anyone else available) could turn it around AT ALL.

I NEVER saw this level of success coming this fast. And that’s a credit not only to Heup and his judgment re staff and building a winning culture for top winners not just top rated recruits. It’s also a credit to AD Danny White for recognizing the deeper problems we had in the first place.

My crystal ball broke so idk what the future holds. But this Volfan NEVER EVER wants to see our fb team deviate from the current path and direction we’re on rn.
