So which is it? Is Hart the liar or is it Hyams and many of you? You know, the ones who are claiming they have someone in the know that Gruden is coming or that he's made salary demands. Hyams himself said he heard Gruden wanted 5 million a year for 10 years guaranteed with another 4 million for assistants. Yet, today in the Dooley press conference Hart stated that despite rumors he hasn't contacted ANY candidates for the coaching position. So, who is the liar here....Hart...or Hyams and many of you? :no:

Yes, but he also stated he wasn't going to use a search firm and would be searching for a coach on his own. Doesn't sound to me like Hart is the type of guy to allow other people talk dollars and cents with coaching candidates. This is HUGE for him and his legacy.

Yeah, it'd look real good for him to come out say he'd been contacting and ironing out details while we still had a coach. Like emain said, misdirection.

Hart probably hasnt talked directly with anyone prior to today but the money folks, including some former players according to reports, have spoken with him to gauge interest/demands.

SO why would he offer that statement then that nobody has been contacted? Misdirection is lying.....so you're saying Hart is the liar?

"Liar" is strong. Around me it will get somebody's ass kicked. The probability is that a 3rd party has contacted another 3rd party (agent) and there are feelers out there. Anybody that doesn't believe that there is something happening behind the scenes is too stupid to share the atmosphere.

Dude, trust San Diego. He is a lawyer. You are being confused by the process. Dave will talk to agents at this point in tha game. Or someone on Dave's behalf might talk to the head coach. There is on going conversation between our side and their side. But it is not direct conversation at this point. And therefore, Dave can honestly say....hey, I haven't talked to any coaches yet. Because, "he"....hasn't talked to anyone.

He probably hasnt talked to anyone directly like others have said.. Also I believe Hyams said his sources told him. Everyone seems to have "sources" these days so who knows what exactly is the truth.

The grand point is that everyone needs to realize that in this process you will NEVER know what is truly going on. So...in the next month or so while this is going on and people "in the know" that claim they have some inside information don't believe it. There will be hundreds of threads between now and when we hire someone and people need to realize the level of BS that's going to be told by a lot of people is going to be through the roof. Don't be naive folks. There...message delivered and thanks for asking :good!: Having said that....here's to hoping for Gruden :)
