No shot at anybody, but it's just not something that a fan is going to know much about beyond a job title and what they see on the field. There a lot of responsibilities as far as game day, program management, recruiting etc that fans just aren't going to have a lot of insight into.I’m clueless. Why?
They were lost in run fits too. AC7 was out of position a lot. He wanted to come over the top of everything and when Telander has set the play and Carter would come over the top, the cutback was wide open. Growing pains. The jury is still out on Inge , in my opinion. We have some great young albeit raw LB talent , but they seemed to get lost in coverage all year . I kept waiting for that to improve , but it never did . I agree with your assessment of the other coaches.
And now you know why he wasn’t extended last year.Mike Ekeler, Tim Banks, and Willie Martinez all have contracts that expire on January 31st, 2025. All other coaches, except Josh Heupel, have contracts that expire on January 31st, 2026. ---EDIT--- Alec Abelin's contract expires on February 28th, 2026. Josh Heupel's contract expires on January 31st, 2029.
In past years the administration takes care of all contracts at the same time, prior to announcing anything. So as of now the situation is normal.

Indeed. That's a guy that you keep.Laughable if there’s any truth to this. He’s one of 4 position coaches who should have ironclad job security at this point, the others being Garner, Inge, and Sims.
If Heupel fires Ek while keeping Pope and his buddies Halzle and Ellarbee, he’ll have lost a lot of my respect.

I think getting Harbin on the field would be great, mainly for his elite recruiting. I would not be for banks coaching another position. He has not had a high school recruit pan out yet, and we are going into year 5. So he is the same as Elarbee and Pope, which Pope has not been here quite as long as they have.Willie Martinez retires, allowing Banks to take over all DBs not just safeties. Then make Ekeler the special teams coach exclusively, opening the OLBs role, which is given to Harbin.
Needs to take a few more assistants with himhe isn't firing him. EK is looking at Nebraska and considering going there. Like with the roster management, coach management will also have to occur and if Nebraska wants to pay more than Tennessee is willing to do he will likely move on. He may not, he might just prefer to remain here...
Staff has been really busy (Recruiting, portal, playoff, trying to maintain roster, etc.) and finalizing these contracts is down the list of priorities.
Is there any amount of money that would make living in Lincoln, Nebraska better than Knoxville?he isn't firing him. EK is looking at Nebraska and considering going there.
