Electronic Ticketing

I have not bought the new digital tickets now required at UT stadium before. I reached out to someone on craigslist. He had four tickets for the Austin Peay game. He said I could Venmo him the money and he would print tickets for me that I could pick up or he would mail to me. My understanding was that no paper tickets were allowed at the stadium. Am I wrong? This is all new to me. Is he correct? Or is it or something wrong with this offer?. Thanks for your help.
Don’t trust craigslist for anything. If you don’t wanna pay all the fees that come with Ticketmaster, Seatgeak, or Stubhub then use the ticket forum on here.

I have paper tickets, they cost a little more, but what cool souvenir doesn't?

So there are absolutely paper tickets available, jsyk

Plus why not go into the ticket forum/section here on volnation and trade tickets with other like minded folks

just my 2cents

Just to know. Have you actually gained entry using paper? I was of the impression those were for scrapbooks etc. but not entry. Like to establish a fact here.

I think you're supposed to store them in your phone's Apple/Google wallet and then you don't need wifi to pull them up. Or just screen shot them.

I would be sh-- out of luck as I have none of this online crap!! Guess I won't be going to any more home games or anywhere else this "safer" way to enter the games is required.

One shouldn’t be required to purchase or own an expensive appliance just to attend a sporting event. Someone Amish should sue. This is just another stepping stone toward a cashless society. Soon your entire life and everything you think you posses will be at the whim of an unknown server farm. Maybe soon we can all just have a mark on our wrist or forehead to do all of our commerce 😬

I feel for the people that are retirement age because learning the technology can be an obstacle.

But you can buy an old smart phone for $25 and not even connect a phone service to it. Use it on wifi to put the tickets in your wallet then your set. Anyone with enough money to attend a game who plans 48 hours ahead of time (less if you already have the phone) will be fine.

It just seems not to even be an option in life. In some restaurants, they don’t even have real menus to hold, just scan the QR code at the table. I hate it. Football games and dinner outings are times to put the phones away!
I hate having to try to look at a menu on my phone. That screen isn't nearly as big as an actual menu with everything in easy to read type.

After seeing this thread, looked up how to get Apple Wallet since I have an iPhone, but apparently you have to have Apple Pay to use Apple Wallet, which I don’t. Then they talk about Apple certificates, and Passkits. Delta Airlines doesn’t work with Apple Wallet, but Ticket Master does. It all looks complicated. 🤪

Me too. And what if my phone is almost dead? What if I’m trying to conserve the battery? What if I just don’t want to bring my phone to the restaurant? It’s so annoying that you need your phone to do everything for you.

Mobile/Digital Ticketing

Print at Home PDF tickets are no longer issued or accepted for entry at any Tennessee Athletics venues.

It's total control, just like when they don't accept the US DOLLAR BILL anymore. Control. When it's all digital , it can be controlled by whoever decides to. Think it's all good? Nope it ain't. When your money is no longer in your hands, it's in someone else'. Slippery slope. Soon they will tell you what where and to whom you can deal with. Careful what you wish for.

I still Wonder what someone is supposed to do who doesn’t wish to own a smartphone.
I have a flip phone by choice . As a result of Tennessee going digital i bought the cheapest smartphone and data package Walmart had , when I got home with it , I set up my all Vols account and online wallet. The only thing I use it for is access to Tennessee football games . The other 358 days a year it's not used . One time expense of less than 100 bucks . Sucks, but if there's a will there's a way . GO VOLS !

Virtually all Americans have a Social Security Number. Control is already established and has been for a generation or so. Good or bad, mostly bad, but that ship is well past the port.

I'd like to see fingerprint tickets, especially for concerts. No more scalpers, resellers, etc. You buy your ticket at a location with a fingerprint scanner (they're cheap) and that finger gets you in. Period. No phone, ticket, nothing but your finger will work or is needed.

If you're male and of a certain age, there's a pretty good chance they didn't ask for your fingerprints, it was an order. Or is serving something a "privacy conscious social justice warrior" like yourself thinks is too much to ask?

Also, do you have a driver's license or state issued ID? What part of facial recognition software are you not aware of?

Don't be naive. A microchip isn't needed to know what you do. As we type the NSA likely can, if they wish, know your IP and the MAC of your device and find you in short order. If you don't want to be found, you need to Unibomber yourself to the bushes.

Hehehe. Cut back on the naivety.

It's the price we pay to live in post 9/11 America that the govt can spy pretty easily on all of us and there is little interesting about me and mine and I do my best to keep it that way. I no longer fear they know too much about me, I expect it.

I see privacy as like the IRS. Do your bit and don't make yourself noticeable.

As an aside, I'd like to see a verse in "Try that in a small town" about stopping at the "Adult Toys" store, because in a small town every holier than thou Baptist biddy for 20 miles around your little town will be on the phone talking about seeing your car in the parking lot.

The best surveillance in the world is done by busybodies in small towns.

Haven’t been to Neyland since 2019. What is the best site to purchase tickets from? Ticketmaster, Stubhub, or Seat Geek?

Wished it was the old way of purchasing.
