Eloy Vargas?

If Prather and Young are going to be such impact players. Why hasn't anyone mentioned them even playing a significant role for the gators next season?
you can only fit so much into a two sentence preview. most of them decided to focus on the those 5 returning starters who averaged double-digit scoring and 6'10 240 Kenny Kadji coming back from injury.

Donovan takes as many guys with PG skills as he can get. with Calathes, Lucas and Hodge on the roster he signed Walker in 2008 and I don't think anyone doubted the ability of Calathes to play point guard at the collegiate level.

You should go look up what position Rosario actually plays because it's not point guard.

Where should I look it up at? I watched Rutgers play last season. He was playing PG.

Wow. I've got to stop now. Pretty soon, people won't be able to tell the difference.

MHF keeps up with recruiting better than anyone. Obviously, everyone else is wrong about this player. The NCAA is probably changing their transfer rules and MHF is the only one who knows that players that transfer don't actually have to sit out a year prior to being eligible. I'm sure he will have a major impact on FLA's team next season.

Why bring up tyler smith

Wonder if UK will continue to pursue Kadeem Jack.

can't see why they wouldn't. They're still four spots under the scholarship limit, Harrelson graduates and Knight and Kanter want to be one and dones. With Teague and Gilchrist that's still 5 spots open for the 2011 class.

Might be six spots given Vargas's academic history. You really can't guarantee him to be at Kentucky more than a year. Lexington is not going to be like Miami-Dade CC where you can get a degree while never taking a class taught in English.

Cal probably doesn't much care if Vargas is there next year or not. He's purely a stopgap.

I believe so. We need as many warm, breathing bodies over 6'8" as we can find. It seems that he has the game to compete and challenge for a starting spot. (assuming Jones doesn't flip sides)

Thats all he is, a band-aid to hold together until the 11' class, and nothing more. Had any of our bigs stayed, he probably wouldn't have surfaced on the radar.

That does say something about Cal's recruiting. When a former top 50 guy who will be among the top 5 in the SEC in shot blocks is a stopgap, you're doing well.

Kadeem Jack is a horse. He'll play in the NBA.

That seems to be what I gather. Most (that I consider relevant) say that he has been somewhat of a late bloomer. Its between UK and UNC, and most say whoever offers first gets him. Its also speculated that he is leaning toward UK, due to the total lack of inside presence (presents) and possibility of playing time. However, the Vargas committment may change that (though I don't think it should...).

Does this mean that Jones is no longer being sought by KY? How do you feel about this recruiting class if this is it?

By no means. They are still after Jones hard, but the final LOI signing deadline is Wednesday and a move had to be made to pick up some big bodies regardless.

The Vargas pick up puts this class from #2 to #1 on most charts. However, its still not a class that makes us a contender. If Jones committs, it puts them in the conversation (sort of). But its not last years class, and the record will be much different. Though I could be wrong, Its probably a sweet sixteen team and not much more.
