After speaking with Holly they both mutually agreed to part ways. Seems like she was as tired of Holly as most of the fans are. Now let us see who is coming to Tennessee.

OR could it be that when it was announced Kyra was interviewing at UCF (or wherever it was), Holly started getting lots of inquiries about Kyra's job, so that she needed to ask Kyra if she was staying or looking elsewhere, and they agreed to part at that point?

If Kyra really does have thoughts of being head coach at UT someday, she will need to get head coaching experience, and apparently she's thinking now is the time.

I loved her as a player & as our coach - hope the very best for her!

Kyra doesn't need head coaching experience. Holly had zero HC experience. Not a requirement.

No DeMoss is not coming here as long as Holly is here. She will be with Summitt as long as he has a job.

How long will they keep him? LA Tech plays in a weak conference and had a very weak OOC schedule, yet still ended up with a losing record (14-16). He isn't exactly lighting the world on fire there. How much time will they give him to turn the situation around?

i would think he would need a winning season next year and then be right up there for the conference title from then on.

I never reveal a source! I also don't post anything unless I no it to be fact.

Try "know" instead of "no" . . . no links, sources, back up, etc will get you blasted time after time . . . :spank:

That is laughable. How long did it take you to make that up.

Which part is laughable? Official release is that after meeting they decided to part ways. I can find plenty of fans that are ready to part ways with Holly if it was their call. If the next move was that Holly was leaving I think a lot of fans would make a joyful noise of happiness.

Well, excuse the hell outta him for doubting your rich history of being a source of information. Your month of membership and 17 highly informative posts should have given none of us reason to question.

You no what is happening.

Does LA Tech have a strong recruiting class coming in next year? Any top players?

I really don't know who they got coming in as they had 14 on scholarship and only lost two seniors so they have 12 returnees. I expect their class will be small I think he is betting on player improvement and experience to get him a winning season next year. It should happen. He should probably lay off the Miss. St and SEC teams he scheduled this past year. I think someone said they might be on our schedule next season. I can't say for sure that would be a loss for him.

Every change in staff is an opportunity to hire someone who can offer a fresh perspective and add skills that will make the team stronger. I'm sure all UT fans wish Kyra Elzy well and hope Holly capitalizes on the chance to bring in an assistant who can upgrade the offense and help develop players. It should be a desirable job, especially with all the talent coming back. Hope we reach high, instead of looking for a bargain.

I do not think this will improve our program at all...... what is the point in changing out asst coaches if the situation is as it is.....

Let's stay with what we have as the North Star to guide us...... that is the motto seemingly.....

But I would call for different changes.... I have long since given up on seeing other changes being made.

I'll buy what MTSU said but this deal is awkward as h@ll. You never see an assistant coach part ways in this manner before landing their next gig. The head coach will usually be searching and putting out inquiries with the understanding the position will soon be open. Just odd...
