Embarrassing enough they dumped the water on Cheney but

If that is the case, that says it all in how much the players respect Chaney.

If cody pope was coaching today and got a first W, he's getting a bucket.

Coach/player relationship is nice though. Things get intense. Players and coaches go through the gamut of emotions. Some days they don't want to see each other, but when you have spent that much time with someone, its hard not to have mutual respect, even though both make mistakes along the way.

Hell, I thought it was awesome! The team ended a rough season on a good note! Made me smile!!!

This. I seldom post on here and when I do I try to be positive, but all the dumb @$$e$ on here ragging on these players for being happy about winning this game need to get a freaking clue! Such douche baggery isn't necessary.

Frankly...I find the "bucket bath" at the end of this game just about as embarrassing as the locker room celebration last year after Vandy.

!!!

You SIR, need to loosen your restricted anal sphincter. The celebration was nothing more than a release of pent up disappointment after THE most frustrating season in the memory of most living Vol fans. You are reading way too much into it.

Nice win Vols.

Give Cheney break he has been our longest tenured coach throughout this time of troubles
I admit that I rag on his play calling sometimes but the players love him at least he went down with his ship unlike effing Dooley
Cheney's a true VFL

It's the last game of a really rough season, and they won. Nothing wrong with being happy/excited/relieved. That was the last time a lot of those seniors may ever put on football pads, and there's nothing wrong with celebrating their victory today.

I read it the same way. Very telling.

That's a stretch . No big win to do it to Dooley. Last game of year. CHaney taking over in difficult situation. I don't read too much into it.

Btw one of my friends played for New York Giants under Tom Coughlin. He didn't much like Coughlin. Thought Coughlin was a micro manager. Don't have to be liked to be respected or a good coach.

Tell me you are not comparing Tom Coughlin to that loser Derek Dooley?

Will it ever stop?

Chaney also gave a good interview with Kesling before the game, on respecting the seniors, acknowledging their committment to the program and running thru the T for the first time..

It's the first interview, I had ever heard from him, and he sounded sincere

I knew this stupid thread was coming...

I as soon as I saw Bray moving stuff out of the way on the side line I knew what was coming, and knew that with in the next 30 sec SOMEONE was going to start this thread.

I agree with the rest of those that say "just let them enjoy it". This may turn out to be Chaney's one and only game as HC. Let them enjoy his 1st win. :hi:

I've stated numerous times that bray and dooley most likely despise each other...I think this is further evidence of that

After what this team had to deal with having worst coach in UT history let the kids have fun. Some of you are just plain douche bags

We will never know what truly was going on behind the scenes

I think the players were showing their appreciation to Chaney for guiding them through a tough week and sending the seniors out winners.

Learn to celebrate the wins you have or you'll always be a loser.

Come on TAF, there are tons of posters on here that will tell you that last year's Vandy celebration was a normal reaction...that's how teams celebrate! :ermm:
