hey, emily! Have you seen this?
duke launches investigation into possible player mistreatment - swish appeal
I honestly can't believe she signed with Duke. Having seen her play multiple times locally she just doesn't have the overall skills to play for a D1 college in my opinion. I know we would have taken her because we couldn't get anybody to sign & there's not much available.
She's a talent for schools such as ETSU, Tenn Tech, Liberty, MTSU,etc. Not for a major D1 college. I guarantee she will transfer out of Duke either after her freshman or sophomore season. The only way she stays is just to get her education.
She could also transfer to a lower level school closer to home like Milligan or King College as well. No way she stays at Duke to play basketball. She's just not good enough even though she's smart enough to make the grades to play.
Do you mean if she's not good enough to ever start, you think she'll give up a Duke degree to end her basketball career maybe starting at a smaller school? Or do you think they'll pull a Harbaugh and take away her scholarship?
I think she rides the pine for four years and has a great educational as well as sports experience. She is a great kid and will help the team, that is all that counts.I say unless she gets better & good enough to be in the rotation she will not stay at Duke. That's unless she doesn't care about playing & just wants her education there. She could transfer to a much smaller school close to home & have both.
Definitely playing time & probably starter & get her an education as well. She's already a very smart girl. I would love to see her play locally in college like at Milligan or King College. She's definitely good enough to play at both of these schools.
She's also good enough to go up a little higher into D1 to a school like ETSU or Tenn Tech or equivalent. I just don't think she makes it at Duke just wanting to play basketball as her top priority.
The question for her will be is her education at Duke more important while setting the bench at Duke or is playing basketball more important that she must transfer while getting her education at another school?

A good coach can take a 6'4" and make them into more than they came in as TB. You can't coach them on how to grow.... Remember Stephanie Dolson at UConn. And even better, if you can take a look at G's newest tower6'5" Natalie Butler... She looks slower and less useful than Dolson, OR Shubert.... It's not ALL about what you have, it can often be about what you DO with what you have.

I didn't know where to post this, but since at the end she talks about Emily, I put it here.
She talks a lot about UCONN and Stevens and it gets REALLY interesting.
