You forgot Woolridge, he will get action, Jurick will not

Well that is debatable because one of those will redshirt but it just depends on what type of gameplan CBP goes with every night...

Jurick/Negedu would be ideal in the case that Williams and Chism would be our only big men so we would need another rebounder out there

Woolridge would be ideal if we go with wanting to run opponents out of the gym every night and as we saw this season that only works for about 2/3 of the season and then your players get worn down after they win a toughy in the Forum and turn right back around and play at Vandy, at Florida and Kentucky.. and its usually not good going into the SEC tourney and NCAA tourney without your legs...

But anyway, if Negedu signs then he would play either way. But choosing between Jurick and Woolridge this year will depend on which player fits the style that Bruce feels will advance us past the Sweet 16

I strongly feel and have a feeling it will be Woolridge playing, and Jurick sitting out a year. Jurick's game isn't developed enough to play D-1 ball, and another year of getting stronger and working hard will help tremendously. You also have to remember that Woolridge hit a growth spurt and it up to 6' 7'', while also being loads more athletic than Phillip.

so is it ut or memphis for negedu?
probably

UT and indiana were the main two other contenders during his recruitment the first time. I doubt he'll go to IU since Kelvin Sampson is no longer there. I doubt he'll go to GT because that's generally considered an odd option.

Memphis lost out on the Devin Ebanks recruitment, so theres a position open for him, but it's unlikely he'll get to play early there since Memphis signed a couple other players (Garcia and Witherspoon) at PF and they are returning Dozier(most likely) and Taggert. But, Memphis is bringing in a top class and coach cal gets people to the NBA. UT also has a few people at that position, but losing Duke Crews makes playing time a little more available at UT. I think it's gotta be between Mem and Ten

Thanks for the information. Sounds like someone we could definitely use this coming year.

Considering they won't be playing the same position - No. That has nothing to do with it. Plus I think Forbes has already said the plan was for him to not redshirt this year.

If he's not going to redshirt, is it possible that Wayne will play the 4 some this year? I don't see us rotating 3 big men unless Wayne spends time at another position.

Actually, getting Negedu will matter for Juric. Negedu will get minutes, no question. Those minutes he plays will allow Chism and Williams to play all the "5 spot" minutes. Without Negedu, Chism might play some minutes in the "4 spot" thus opening up minutes for Juric. Whenever the coaches talk about Juric they sound like they expect him to play minutes this season. Internet poster gurus like to say how bad Juric is and how he has to redshirt because he is nowhere near ready. But the coaching staff obviously has a different opinion. Personally, I hope he can redshirt. That is a win-win. If he can redshirt, it means our post game has gotten strong enough we dont need him. Thats a plus. And Juric gets time to develop some offense before he steps foot on the floor.

I still don't seem him redshirting regardless, but that's just my opinion. He's a step above any of our big men with his shot blocking imo after watching him in person a few times.

Even if its 8 minutes a game.. I think he could help - but you're right it would be nice to RS him this year if possible.

Unless we find another center, Jurick will probably play regardless. We had plenty of games where Chism, Crews, and Williams logged significant minutes at center because of foul trouble. Again, if Childress is still on the team, he could be the 3rd center.

There were several times this past season where Chism played the 4 while he and Williams were on the floor at the same time.
