The knock on Chism is that he's prone to pick up quick fouls early in games. The scout is to take the ball right at him early in games. We will definitely need Jurick to play this year. Chism will more than likely play more minutes at the 4 with Williams a majority at the 5. Childress will see as much playing time next season as he did this past. Way too much talent on the team for the Chill to steal minutes from.

Offensively? Hmm.. they're both pretty bad from what I've seen. Jurick did nail an open 3 in a game I saw though.. (don't expect this from him though - and I think BW can hit the occasional one as well). I'd say Williams will have come in with more offensive moves than Jurick.

Most of what I saw Jurick do was slam it in some 5'10 guys face when I went to see him play. He could hit a midrange shot though.

Defensively though - its not even close imo.

Which one is better defensively?

I dont think that we should redshirt jurick because 4 is the more natural position for chism and not redshirting jurick would allow brian williams to have a formidable back up at the 5 spot with negedu backing up chism at the 4 and tyler playin the majority of the minutes at the 3

I know some have suggested that we go with a big lineup: Maze, Hopson, Smith, Chism, Williams. My two concerns are, 1) can we make the shift from being a smaller, quicker team soon enough? and 2) will Williams improve enough during the offseason so that we can rely on him to be a key part of our offense and guard the other team's big man night in and night out?

If the answer is "yes" to both, I love our chances next season.

I hope he decides to come to Tennessee.

It's not going to happen. It's between Memphis and Indiana. With the coach that he has the best relationship with coming aboard of The Memphis staff then Memphis has to be the likely candidate with the departure of Dorsey.

I was pushing for the bigger lineup with the idea of Crews at the 4 and Chism at the 5, with Williams backing up Chism and Jurick redshirting. At this point, I agree with the lineup you suggested. But, yeah, those are two key questions that would have to be answered in the affirmative.

I think we will see the big lineup and at times see a quicker lineup with Hopson and either Prince or Tatum or even Tabb in at the same time and Tyler at the 4. We will have the flexibility to change our look to match-up with the opposition as we so choose. I think that will be a big plus.

Someone else posted that Pastner might be a reason for Negedu to choose UT. Something about Pastner not wanting to burn a bridge with UA.

Saying Tennessee has no chance is not reality, it's ignorance.

I never said Tennesse didn't have a chance. I said you that it is not going to happen and you have to favor Memphis due to the great relationship of the player and the asst. coach who recruited him at UA, who happens to be the new asst. coach at Memphis.

It's only ignorance when you don't know as in YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IN THE HELL YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT !
