Emmanuel has Been Officially Released from His Letter of Intent

Also the draft for the Rocky Top League is tomorrow night so it would be great if he decided to come here and was eligible for thw draft ... Doubt it will happen though.

Its looking good so far for us with Negedu..Hope his visit goes well! According to some people who have Rivals subscriptions, the new article basically is saying Indiana is out and he's very excited about his visit here today.

This is good news for us. I am starting to feel really good about our chances. I am curious what you guys think about playing time at Memphis vs UT. Anyone have an opinion?

The main reason Memphis may get him is that Memphis has no true center. I seen Niles the other day and he has dropped alot of weight but Negedu will start immediately at center if he chooses memphis. However if he can't run the floor then Memphis is not for him.

Well if Memphis gets him they still won't have a true center. Negedu is a 4/3... And he has no problem running the floor.

If I was a Memphis fan, I'd rather have Taggart at center than Negedu. Negedu just doesn't seem like your prototypical center.

More than once, I've seen scouts say that Negedu runs the floor "like a gazelle". He would be a great fit for both Memphis or Tennessee.

Taggart just doesn't bring enough ass to the party. He is a Pau Gasol type. There is an occasional toughness but nothing close to consistent.

Indianapolis Star reports:

"At first, I thought Memphis was the school to beat and the odd's on favorite to get Negedu's services. This was all because of Josh Pastner and the fact that Negedu asked out of his Arizona letter of intent a few days after Pastner left that school. I've heard one report though that the Memphis situation may be complicated. I've heard that if Pastner ever hopes to be considered for the Arizona job when Lute Olsen leaves some day that it wouldn't sit well in Tucscon if Negedu ultimately left UA to play at Memphis. I've heard that from a pretty good source but don't know if it's just some people talking or what. It's interesting enough to be believable.

So if not Memphis, then what school becomes the favorite? My guess is if not Memphis, that Tennessee may be the school to beat in the Negedu Sweepstakes. Bruce Pearl has done great things with that program and again, he was very involved in recruiting Negedu the first time around. If that visit goes well today, then I'm guessing the Volunteers could become the favorite. Again, that's assuming that the Memphis rumor is true. If it isn't, I still think Memphis is the school to beat."

After reading his interview after half his visits, I'd be willing to bet the farm that he plays some where in Tennessee this season. Could be UT, could be Memphis. GT has an outside shot, and unless he is bluffing, IU has no chance. UT has the be the leader at this point. Memphis has a pretty full roster, so much so that I believe Dozier had to keep quiet about his draft status until after Ebanks had made his decision. I may be way off, but thats my opinion of it.

I think we are in good shape after his visit...things could still change after Memphis but we will know something on Saturday

He is going to Memphis. When you watch the WREG-TV Memphis video (about 4 minutes in) Negedu states: I am coming down here to be on team that wants to win.
