Drain the swamp! He's not a politician! All those cries made him it to be different. No doubt the election threads on here from that time are full of that crap. It was one of his biggest campaign planks

I was asking if anyone had directly granted themselves a govt payment/contract/gift while in office. Coming from an outside source is different than directing govt money to your personal business

Supposedly it's being held "at cost" so it should be easily verified through an audit and I'm sure as the day is long someone will audit the accounting of the summit. So let's see what they find out before we get our panties in a wad over him making money off of it.

I have stated that this is a bad look for him and it shouldn't be held at his resort but if he isn't making money off of it then there is no laws broken.

He's refused to turn over any of his financial records ever, but now he's going to open up the books so we can have an audit of this.

Furthermore, what does "cost" even mean at a resort? Even if it were a break-even proposition, that would still put the place better off than the alternative--losing money with bunch of empty rooms during the off season.

How do you determine what the resort's costs were from the government's records? You can only determine what the government paid.

I don't know. I'm sure there will be lawsuits involved that will get the clubs accounting for the summit. Hell they might just hand them over.

He's always operated under the philosophy that any press is good press, but I think he is starting to see the fallacy in that belief.
His "brand" has taken significant hits.
His name is poison to the majority, but I guess he can still continue to fleece the 36 percenters.
