While Tennessee patiently waits for Holly to morph into Pat redux, women's basketball passes it by.

Tennessee will never fire Holly as long as she wins 20 games she will have to retire. She is making 650000 while coaches likes Mulkey etc are making 2 million. Tennessee needs their football money to pay former coaches and present coaches. We are not hiring a 2 million dollar women's basketball coach and for what Holly makes doubt you could find anyone much better at least recruiting is still good and we only lose to bad teams three of four games a year.

Depressing, but true.

I was thinking baylor would give them a good game if they met in the tournament, but Wallace was such a good all around player and not sure they have anyone on the bench that can produce like she did.

She is overpaid at 650k
All the #1 class did is expose her inept coaching. She needs to Retire

Fulmer has said multiple times that he won't even consider an extension, or lack thereof, until after the season. He said he'll sit down with Holly then and have the appropriate conversation.

Let's see. We are one loss from the 2 seed. We are still 9 in the country in RPI.

Calling people a "Holly Lover" like it's some sort of curse word or put down...oooh, soooo tough. I love all my TN coaches. You should try it.

As for attendance, still 1st or 2nd in the nation. Only because SC gives tickets away ($50 for season) are they ahead of us. TN remains the top attraction on the road.

But I thank you for your encouragement. GLV

I certainly do not think anyone can question Tennessee’s draw on the road. My wife and I were at the Tennessee vs Missouri game and the attendance set an all time record. Tennessee fans also travel well. There must have been at least 500 or more Tennessee fans in attendance. The brand is still good and hope is alive and well.

IMHO if have to use the word HOPE in telling me the Brand is still alive..........then it may be hurting!! :thud:

Holly isn't going anywhere til she retires. She has done more than well enough to please any AD as it pertains to WCBB. She just isn't pleasing some of the fans and at times some of the players parents. It may be hard to accept but it just may be that what you are seeing now is as good as it is going to get.

They will still recruit well and draw fans although that number is gradually decreasing year by year it is still right there in the Top 5. They may drop an ugly game here or there but talent should keep them as a perennial minimum S16 team. For an AD S16 for WCBB is more than enough to hold on to a job. They have to spend their time worrying about Football.

Is in her contract that she gets a bonus and extension for making the SEC Tournament

EVERY coach makes the SEC tournament..Unless probation or punishment makes them ineligible..Maybe you meant NCAA tournament?? But since I'm not a blinders-on CHW fan, TIFWIW.....

Ole Miss fired Rick Insell today after he compiled an 70-87 overall record and 18-52 in the SEC.

Just how good is the recruiting going to be when other programs start pointing out how five star players go to Knoxville and disappear?

They already do. South Carolina, Louisville and Mississippi State have offered quite a few in-state recruits. Holly and staff don’t even know who these kids are, despite some being highly ranked and within state borders. One top coach in particular is telling kids they’ll regress if they play for Holly.

Who would those recruits be?
