End Selective Service

So how does that make sense 🤔

If you get sunburned in the military you are subject to punishment. She ultimately has control of her body and military readiness. Obviously you have no clue about how the military works….or use to.

So we need every person but we will also have a available people to enforce bad laws?
I am on your side. Just pointing out the application where it would be needed isnt for invading some Stan somewhere.

“Collective punishment”, just to clarify you’re agreeing with the overall statement that selective service in general should be gone?

Or just that it shouldn’t be for women?

I'd advocate for doing away with selective service for prudential reasons -- namely, that we as a society are so committed to the dogma that men and women are interchangeable that we would subject women to a future draft. Were we still a normal society, I'd support keeping selective service in place for men (while strictly limiting the circumstances under which a draft could be imposed).

Do the men who impregnate them go to prison too?
If they get out of doing their duty by doing so.... absolutely.

Oh, and there is this thing called 'birth control' which is highly effective. And leftists are all in favor of abortion on demand, so yeah if a woman gets knocked up, she was derelict in using contraception and using that as a vehicle to shun duty. Off to jail you go.

Except the idea is that we are facing some sort of total war situation when every person is needed.

Given that we've got the largest nuclear arsenal in the world, I don't believe that's a scenario we need to make provision for.

They can't have it both ways. Can't have all the benefits of being a man without the same responsibilities and standards.

Again, there's no "they" here. The demands of some women to be eligible for military service doesn't obligate all women to be subject to military service. As for talk of "the same responsibilities and standards," wake me up when a man can bear a child.

When a woman has a child she gets maternity leave.

Buttigeige was out on maternity/paternity leave for 3 months with his husband. Someone is not being honest here.

You should tell the women that. Of course just like a lot of groups they preach equality but want it without having to put in the work to be equal. They just want to be tokens then after that they b**** about wanting more without any merit to justify it.

"The women" . . .

Those who want the military to operate as it used to should not want to subject women to the draft.
So in your world, they can fly combat aircraft until the need arises to actually go into combat. That makes a ton of sense.

Look, I don't want women or anyone else subject to the draft. I don't want women in combat arms, I don't want women close to combat. But they are, they have fought to be there so they should be held to the same standards as men.

Sure. But if they do, the best we can do is hope enough people are willing to fight. If enough people are not willing to fight, we 100% won’t have enough willing participants to force the unwilling and still win the fight.

If you’re already short on troops, removing x% of them to be prison guards isn’t beneficial.

It’s a bad law

There have been many unwilling participants in war over the years. In the end they did their duty. They will fight for those around them. I doubt it will ever come to this though.

We're in full agreement on the first three points. What I don't understand is your insistence on holding all women accountable for the policy preferences of some. Millions of women object to women being admitted into the armed forces. Why seek consistency of policy at their expense?

Because they aren’t shutting down the ones seeking the equality. And come on, lets face facts here. Ask any woman in the US if they deserve the right to vote and 99.99% if not 100% of them will say yes. Why should people who don’t have equal risk and responsibility have equal say?
