I remember telling co-workers that we might win this year, and they said, no, we'd never beat the Bear again. Ha!

I was working at the World's Fair that day. I was working in the house on 11th street closest to Bridge Ave. You could hear the Vol faithful cheering like you were inside the stadium. It was awesome!

11th and Bridge? Just prior to this game I had moved out of an apartment on that same block, on the NE corner of 12th and Laurel. Damn fair priced us out.

Let's hope he's as successful as some of his counterparts.

Why on earth can't we hire one of the best coaches of their era? I pray CBJ is successful. But dang, bama's ADs are like wizards with some of these hires.

Key word ... "some". Real Bama fans who have been around since then know the odds are not in your favor when looking to maintain a dynasty. Since CPB, I'm seeing 5 or 6 busts vs 1 good coach and one great one. If I were a Tide fan, I would not be happy going back to the coaching market.

When Phil's results started falling off and the FirePhil voices mounted, the first thing I thot of was living thru the 70s. Unfortunately, my fear has been fully realized. Getting the right guy anywhere is always risky.

Remember listening to this game in my 1979 Chevy pick-up AM radio only driving home from work.
I know some of the young ones on here have know concept of AM only radio.
Man I`m getting old too.

Duhhh, that's when you're iPhone alarm is set to play music from iTunes when it wakes you in the morning. Everybody knows that. :-D
