I would put Adrian Peterson ahead of Pat White, and Suh. Vince Young was definitely better than Run Dmc

Don't expect people to agree with me on this.

Tebow's the man.

But, harvin is the best gator I've seen with the ball in his hands

Vol fans fans hate Tebow the way other SEC fans hated Manning. Both were great players who represented their schools with class. People love to hate winners.

The latest SEC QB on the "hated list" would be McCarron. He seems like a nice kid, played the game at a high level, won titles, and has hot GF. Haters are gonna hate.

I will get killed for this, but Deion Grant has to be in that discussion. No disrespect to Eric Berry, either. Grant was the most amazing pass defender I have ever seen in The Orange.

He made the single most important play in modern Vol history.

Comparing the two as far as just pure athletes, I still have to go with McFadden. Obviously Run DMC wasn't a QB (at least not a true QB), I am confident that Young could'nt have played the mulitple positions at that high of a level. NO WAY!

Young is best known for his miraculous take over of the game against USC (deservingly). But, McFaddens stats are unreal and almost not human. He was clearly the most athletically gifted player on the field no matter who he faced (on the college level)

Pro football is an entirely different discussion. I'm talking about what he was able to accomplish at the college level, and it trumps Manning's career in my book.

Tebow was an excellent football player and an inspirational leader. Manning was simply the best QB to ever play the game. And I'm talking college.

Let's look at the top 3's best years:

Young
Comp = 212 Yards = 3036 TD = 26 Int = 10

Tebow
Comp = 234 Yards = 3286 TD = 32 Int = 6

McFadden
Rush = 1830 Avg = 5.6 per carry TD = 17 Total Yards = 1994

I would take Tebow over Young and McFadden over Tebow.

Sorry, but Manning was not the best QB to ever play the college game. Tebow has a national championship ring and a Heisman trophy. Manning has neither. Both are in a league of their own, but I give Tebow the edge.

Probably mostly media hype, but he made opponents look like kids while at USC. Darren did too. I looked at their stats and Bush doesn't even compare.

Bush does compare especially his last year. McFadden's overall stats are better and 500 yards better.

Keep in mind that McFadden split time with Felix Jones and Peyton Hillis. True, Bush shared with Lindell White. But, white was mainly short yardage.

Bush was an awesome talent but they cheated to get him there and he was later stripped of his awards......

White had over 1300 yards rushing and over 200 receiving in 2005. Bush had over 1700 rushing and almost 500 receiving that same year. Those are crazy numbers for 2 RBs in 1 season.

It was the best team ever created by illegal recruiting and money. Ever. Even over some of the teams Bammer has purchased.

It served their asses right to get beat by Texas. I think the entire nation went crazy!

If i were to base it on accomplishments, it's a different deal.

You're leaving out the rushing stats for Vince Young and Tebow.

If you are doing this based on a "statistics and accolades" basis, it's going to be Tebow.

Keep in mind Tebow is the all-time SEC leader in rushing touchdowns.

This! Tebow had 895 rushing yards and 23 tds in that year.

Young had 1050 yards, and 12 tds.

As much as I hate him for what he did to the Titans, I have no clue how Vince Young is ranked anything but #1. Tebow was ridiculous, but Young was on a different level than even him. Young may be the greatest college player ever, much less of the 2000s. I don't think Tebow is quite on that level.

4 Years vs 3 Years. VY was dominant for 1 year. Tebow for 3. I agree VY's junior year was better than any of Tebow's

They essentially played different positions as pro-style offense vs spread. You could argue Manning was the best QB ever in a pro-style offense.

Manning wasn't the best pro style qb in the SEC east during much of his career, much less the best pro-style qb ever in college football.

I'm always fascinated at how often "college greatness" gets influenced by NFL success or lack thereof. It's as if the player has an great NFL career that his college accomplishments are validated, while it's the opposite (a fluke) if he fails at the next level.

The college game is quite different and success in it can come from a non-NFL type IMO. Tebow is a good example.

Maybe they should have a "Best Pro Players in College" list.

Best Lists are always interesting anyway.

Serious question. If Manning had signed with Florida instead of Tennessee do you think Danny would have replaced Dean or would it be Manning?
