Thank god Disney bought Marvel, because if they didn't we'd be stuck with exclusively garbage tier content from Sony and Fox. All hail the House of Mouse!

I don't like it. If coaches are fired after the last game of the year, it doesn't give kids enough time to make an informed decision about their future. Maybe the transfer portal is the AA's solution to that problem.

Can you actually give me a reason other than "Disney is Evil" as to why you hate them?

Don't need to.

well..ok. They buy everything and shove what they deem entertainment down our throats and the ignorant masses gobble it up. It is the death of originality. It is the ultimate corporate devil extinguishing creativity. I don't think that is what Walt had in mind. I hate everything they stand for. marvel movies could have gotten made and turned out great without their coffers bankrolling them. Now you have a glut of C level marvel characters all getting their own show that will follow a guidebook recipe they have already written. It is a wringing out of what was one time great for merchandising and bottom line profit. It all just sucks. Does that satisfy you?

I would like to thank @butchna for pigeonholing me as a french art house flim aficionado when I really have never even seen one. I loved Roma, big deal. Give me the Coen Bros, Tarantino, Paul Thomas Anderson, Scosese, Wes Anderson all day. I may be a film snob, but I'm an AMERICAN film snob.

I mean you're certainly welcome to whatever opinion you want to hold, so yeah it satisfies me because I was just legitimately curious as to why you held so much disdain for them. But I just personally disagree on all points. IMO, the "death of originality" is a lazy excuse as you can say that about just anything these days if you try hard enough. I mean hell, The Irishman is a solid film, but I could say Scorsese has no originality anymore as it seems the only genre he's interested in are gangster movies.

I also completely disagree that Marvel movies to this scale would have been made without Disney. Marvel was bankrupt in the 90's and had to sell their properties off to survive. The only properties getting any attention were Spider-Man and the X-Men. And so what if Disney is doing this just to make money. That's literally the point of any business in this entire country. They're also not shoving anything down you're throat. You're not forced to watch anything they produce. There have been plenty of great films this year, and there will continue to be plenty of great films for years to come. Disney existing has no bearing on that.

Haha sounds like something a french art house flim aficionado would say. I like all those you mentioned too, but Disney makes a lot of great stuff.

The good movies that come out from under the mouse do exist ( guardians, spider Man I love) but it is in spite of Disney not because of Disney. Hating Disney does not affect my quality of life. I do feel like a lot of people gobble up anything they throw out but I'm sure there are also those that can be discernable. As for Scorsese I can see that "another mob movie" would be a critique but it was done so well and his originality even at his age goes deeper than just the genre. Carry on!

LOL. They own the media? ABC. That's it. ESPN isn't true media. Yeah you might hear an advertisement on Monday Night Football for a new Disney+ show but if that really grinds your gears that much then maybe you should just not watch TV. Disney could advertise their products even without owning ESPN or ABC.

Yes because as other schools in the league have coaching turnover, it benefits us to go and get a recruit or two that is highly rated.

Since I derailed the thread I'll get us back on track. ESD is fine. Kids can wait to sign in February if they want. So I don't think it's really that bad.

Right. It's not like they don't have options. Will probably even out over the years.

I think it benefits strong programs and is a significant problem for programs that are down. A ton of shuffling used to happen between December and February that benefited programs that aren’t Bama and UGA and Clemson.

I think the early signing period should be the friday before the first college game is played (so sometime in late August) and should be limited to 7 or 8 players. This would let coaches solidify their top recruits and let them have unlimited visits during the season. And the December signing day is a huge setback when coaches are fired at the end of a season. New coaches have 2 weeks to recruit instead of 2 months. So have a signing day in August and November, 6 mos apart sounds good to me.

Voted no due to added pressure on players and coaches during an already busy time... thanksgiving to New Years is already a cluster****, plus the bowl games. ESD has advantages to some, so whatevs.

Baby Yo looks like Gizmo got just little wet but not too much.
Does no one remember the Gremlins?? For the love of all that is holy...
