I just don't see how this stuff helps amateur athletics, college football and the team atmosphere. If I remember correctly the state of California led the way for this mess and the democrat congress followed. California is such a ruinous state due to leftists saved by the natural beauty of it. Maybe I'm mistaken.

My understanding is that this went entirely through the courts. Think it originated with a lawsuit filed by former UCLA hoops player Ed O’Bannon over use of his likeness in video games from which he didn’t receive compensation. This ultimately culminated in a 9-0 vote by the Supreme Court that players should be able to benefit from their NIL financially. I think we can all understand how rare a unanimous vote from the Supreme Court is these days, so I don’t think NIL is going anywhere.

It's about protecting individual freedoms. Like the freedom to be paid for the use of your name, image, and likeness. Thankfully common sense is setting in. Protecting amateur sports should not come at the expense of an individuals rights

You can leave Pat out of this. You are nowhere near a man enough to use her name like that. Huge disrespect to a woman who gave her life to elevating women's athletics and their equality. I realize you're in a heated debate but that was extremely low class. I've never seen you post something like this before...and I don't know why you and your two buddies who make up your fan base can't design your own board so you can hang out there. You are low class.

The best Texas will do is a trip to the Texas Bowl to play LSU for the Holidays which could be the last game as Texas head football coach for Steve Sarkisian. Lane Kiffin could be in attendance when Texas throws the bank at him.
