Hart and Vols have mo real artillery left in the arsenal. They are broke (reserve fund=1.5m), program in shambles, 4 coaches in 5 years, recruiting in the toilet while SEC doormat Vandy goes 8-4, fields top 15 recruiting class in the nation and Hart is looking for leftovers as the rest of the SEC has found their coach. Hart will either be considered a genius in 3 years or unemployed along with whoever he does end up hiring.

I think Dave Hart spent nearly a week messing with his Thanksgiving leftovers, poking congealed turkey with a fork to see if it's still edible, wondering if the microwave would dry out the stuffing, etc

Then it's time for Christmas preparations, if you haven't noticed, there aren't a lot of pecans in this year's supermarket nut mixes, so I picture Dave Hart going to different Kroger's to look for a bin with more pecans in the mix, methodically pondering if he should buy a separate bag of pecans and just toss them into what's already there, etc.

Then maybe he takes in a Lady Vols badminton match against Lambert College, or something similar to that...

The man simply will not be rushed - VOLNATION may be approaching panic mode, but that's not his concern - Hart is getting ready to dump the water out of his ornamental garden fountains and get them covered before winter sets in and cracks them

Might as well have another "It's All Dave Hart's Fault-Fire Him" thread.

People need to get off his back....he didn't hire Kiffin and didn't hire Dooley and didn't write the contracts with all the large payouts. Basically the UT Football program was on fire when Hart got hired so cut him some slack.

After us blowing up the Gruden deal and not even trying to pursue the best qualified candidate at the collegiate level (Gary Patterson), I'm right there with ya.

Just because Patterson's name has not been mentioned by the media, does not mean Hart has not spoke to him. Was BB talked about for the Arkansas job before he was named coach? There are names an AD is fine with having out there, I am sure there are others he would prefer to keep quiet if possible. JMO

I think Strong dropped the bomb on UT and it was a big middle finger with "NO" painted on the side! Now we have to make a desperation hire and give the job to some bum from the WAC or SMAC or some other dumb conference.

The good news is that I can now cheer the Gators on as they crush the Cardinals in the Sugar Bowl! Hell, for the first time in my life, I might even do the Gator chomp for every TD Florida scores....

I can't really hate Strong for turning us down. He decided Louisville was a better fit and why not? The Big East is weak, in 2 years they join the ACC where he will most likely be in the top 3 of the conference consistently and keep his job in check. He knows how ravenous the SEC is. It's not that Louisville is better its just safer. Besides can we really hire worse than what we had? Hart would have to hire Grand Valley States coach at this point for me to totally lose hope.

Why would Hart make an official offer unless Strong said yes behind the scenes. So to me looks it seems that either Strong was playing Hart for a pay raise or Hart was just throwing darts.

Will not Gator chomp. Ever. Will cheer for Florida to crush them. I will also be singing Rocky Top and drink half a jar of moonshine the day Louisville gets sanctions for having Clint Hurtt on staff.
