ESPN reporter insults parking lot attendant

People hate being held accountable for their actions. If the tow companies don't have a reason to tow you, they won't. Cops would catch the same crap (heck, some do) constantly for writing speeding tickets if they didn't have the power to arrest you. Don't speed = no ticket. The same applies for parking your car. Quit being a baby, learn your lesson and pay the money you owe. I'd feel like a failed parent if my daughter talked to someone like that for any reason.

Whereas I don't necessarily disagree with your last statement, I'd much rather my daughter be the reporter throwing the hissy fit than the low-life extortionist attendant who filmed it and then put it on the internet.

Also legally can doesn't equal morally should.

Did you know we never landed on the moon, and missiles hit the twin towers. Vaccinations are only there to hurt us.

First... Nice straw man.

Second... That's fairly pathetic than you're unable to differentiate between this and what I said.

The attendant didn't film anything, it's a security camera. This is the first I've heard about extortion.

Sure Volly. Didn't you know that every fine is extortion?

Parking Fine = Extortion
Speeding Ticket = Extortion
Late fee at Blockbuster (RIP) = Extortion

I stayed at the Westin in downtown Charlotte this past weekend, and parking was $40. FLAT...OUT...EXTORTION. I don't care if I knew it ahead of time or not. EVERYONE'S OUT TO GET ME!!! AHHHHHH!!!!

Did you know the police are actually not there to enforce the laws that protect us? They're only there to kill black people (like president Bush) and turn us into Obama's minions. Ask my jobless, pothead 24-year-old nephew. He'll tell ya man.

I didn't realize the tow company had the video taken against their will. I was under the assumption they probably tripped all over themselves to make it as public as possible.

I was initially using the word extortion loosely. But technically extortion is obtaining something, usually money, by means of force, intimidation, or unjust/illegal power. I feel absolutely comfortable saying that's what happened in this instance.

Don't leave me hangin bro. What are the DUI laws there for?

If I thought you were even remotely interested in having an rational discussion on the topic then I would be happy to have one. Your recent post show me that you lack either the desire or mental capacity to do so. I think I'll pass.

Company that Towed Britt McHenry Has ‘F’ Rating With Better Business Bureau | The Big Lead

From the other thread for those who haven't seen it. F rating with BBB and tons of complains, many of which revolve around the attendant in question.

From your link "and perhaps a dozen complaints that appear to be about the same clerk that McHenry was upset with (across all those accounts, these reviews were remarkably similar to the exact things McHenry said in the video)." So the complaints insulted the clerk's personal appearance?

I'll go ahead and say here, I put ZERO stock in anything Yelp. That rating site is known for paying reviewers.

Secondly I'll say, yes it's obvious the video is edited. But there is nothing that implies the reporter is being baited. She isn't "responding" to anything being said to her. She's spitting out insults as they come to her. Just the way I see it.

I won't lie. I have no idea how the BBB makes their ratings but I'd like to think they it takes more to get an F rating then a few bad internet reviews.

And though those reviews are hardly scientific, that coupled with the fact the video is clearly edited leads me to feel absolutely comfortable assuming the attendant was probably just as nasty.

So we have a company known for being scumbags jacks her car from the lot of restaurant she was a patron at right after they close. Then they use it to force her to pay a fine (one I'm sure was extremely unreasonable). She comes to the tow company and starts getting treated like crap and lashes out.

I'm hardly saying her behavior should be celebrated but I'm just not willing to crucify her considering the circumstances.

Like I said, it didn't sound like she was "defending" herself to me. My guess would be if the unedited video surfaces it will be blank space that was edited out. Just my gut feeling though.

Yeah, I jumped to conclusions early on, but as this story unfolds, I think I may give her a pass.

I didn't say she was defending herself. I actually said she was lashing out. Also... I wouldn't hesitate to bet a large sum of money the attendant didn't at least play her part in escalating the situation.

How can you be so sure of something you weren't a part of or didn't witness?

OK, your term, lashing out at what?

I promise I'm not trying to be ugly. You've been very pleasant throughout this discussion and I appreciate that. With that said...

Really? If it isn't obvious what she'd be lashing out at by this point then I don't know what to say.

I could ask the same question to all of you who want to crucify the girl.

Crucify her? Dude, you're going a little overboard here. If she wasn't a pretty blonde and not "on TV" would you still be defending her like you are?

If it's obvious, then state what she's lashing out at. The company?

I obviously don't mean crucify literally. I know that no one is suggesting we nail her to a cross.

Take it for what it's worth but I think I'd actually be defending her more passionately. I'm not a fan of pretty, spoiled, entitled little girls who think they're 10 times more important than they actually are. Which, from what I've read, it appears she is.

With that said... I also call them like I see them and in this instance, it couldn't possibly be more obvious that she was the victim.
